Top Dem senator suggests U.S. troops will be on the front lines if Ukraine doesn’t get its billions
February 17, 2024 | Vivek Saxena

Sen. Chris Coons, a Democrat, is facing explosive backlash for suggesting that U.S. troops will be sent to the front lines in Ukraine or elsewhere unless Congress does what he wants.

What he wants, of course, is for the Republican-led House to pass a $95 billion foreign aid package that’d bless Ukraine with billions in additional aid.

“In the next front against Russia, it will be Americans on the front lines,” he said Friday at the Munich Security Conference, according to CNBC.

“We are best off investing in the Ukrainians who are fighting bravely for their own freedom than allowing [Russian President Vladimir] Putin the opportunity to spread further chaos and violence across Europe,” he added.

He believes without evidence that if Ukraine were to fall to Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin would then pursue invasions of other countries like Poland, Finland, etc.

“If we don’t stop Putin in Ukraine, he will next be attacking NATO allies of the United States,” he explained.

Responding to his remarks, critics rushed to urge him to send his own children off to war first.

What Americans?

The bedrock of military recruits 18-19 year old men are not signing up. So we're going to fight the Russians with a bunch of woke limp wristed babies led by an officer corps selected by DEI policies. It doesn't sound like we will do well with that group.

BTW, I am a supporter of Ukraine but money is not the answer. They need weapons and control of the air not retirement benefits for teachers and graft for corrupt leaders.

Biden said the exact same thing last week.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."
