Whenever I'm walking with elderly and/or unsteady people, I go up the stairs right behind them, hoping to grab them in case they start to tumble down the stairs. That USSS guy standing at the bottom of the stairs really isn't of much use. Of course, neither is the old guy shuffling up the stairs, in this instance.
