The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

Cuts to immigration illegal immigration could weaken the economy? How by having less leeches getting taxpayer money to spend? Maybe it's just me but it brings to mind some of the wisdom of The Mad Queen of Hearts Pelosi's comments about unemployment checks being the best way to increase the economy **nononono*
"Economists tell us that unemployment insurance — the non-partisan Urban Institute estimated that unemployment insurance returns $2 to the economy for every $1 spent. This is money that is needed by families to buy necessities, to heat their homes as Edrie said, and immediately injects demand into the economy — creating jobs." Dec. 1 2010

"What causes inflation?" Pelosi said on May 15. "One is when unemployment goes down, inflation goes up. That's not anything to accept."May 26,2022

So we have a conflict here one is telling us we need all these extra workers flooding in illegally to fill jobs while Pelosi has told us that creating jobs is actually bad for the economy and unemployment is what makes the economy grow  Democrats can't live with them and their 'logic'...........but can't _______ them either 9999hair out0000

There’s a difference between having doctors that are here to work as doctors from countries like India versus airlifting under or uneducated people from Guatemala
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

O!M!G!

Just think of the jobs lost in collecting, shipping, housing, paying, pandering to, and organizing the waves of illegals coming here.

That'd be a huge economic sector (of paid panderers, supply, and logistics) thrown into disarray if we just shut the illegals out.

Not to mention all that 501C3 money flying around, and maybe not all going to the places it is supposed to...

As for economic collapse, well, I guess that depends on where you are standing in all this.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
