King Charles III has been diagnosed with cancer less than 15 months after ascending to the throne, Buckingham Palace announced Monday.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” the palace said in a statement. “Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.

“Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual,” the palace added.

The shocking development comes just a week after the 75-year-old king was discharged from the hospital following the treatment for an enlarged prostate.

Officials did not disclose with which specific form of cancer Charles was diagnosed.

“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure,” the statement from the palace continued.

Prince Harry will soon be traveling to the UK to see King Charles III following his cancer diagnosis on Monday.

The Duke spoke with his father about the diagnosis and is planning to pay His Majesty a visit in the coming days, a source close to Harry said.

The shocking diagnosis, which comes less than 15 months after the 75-year-old King took the throne, was revealed in a statement by Buckingham Palace Monday afternoon.

“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” the palace said in a statement. “Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.”

Soon after King Charles III went public with his cancer diagnosis, his estranged son Prince Harry arrived to be by his side in the United Kingdom.

A source in the United Kingdom told Fox News Digital that Prince Harry had arrived on Tuesday, and was seen entering Clarence House, the London residence of the King.

A car believed to be transporting the Prince was spotted at Heathrow Airport.

The visit between father and son was brief, as the King was photographed leaving Clarence House shortly after, accompanied by Queen Camilla.

Earlier in the day, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told the BBC that the monarch's cancer had been "caught early."
