House PASSES bill to deport illegal migrants arrested for driving drunk after 150 Dems vote NO
February 2, 2024 | Frieda Powers

Illegal migrants arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol can now be deported thanks to a new bill passed in the House on Thursday.

The Protect Our Communities from DUIs Act passed despite the refusal of 150 Democrats to support it. The amendment to the Immigration and Nationality Act was supported by 274 lawmakers – which included only 59 Democrats –  who voted in favor of deporting any migrant arrested for drunk driving.

The bill, introduced by Rep. Barry Moore, R-Ala., would also ensure that those arrested and deported are not allowed back into the U.S.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Why must we pass a bill to do something already codified in law?

If they are here illegally deport them. It makes no difference what they are doing when we catch them.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

@Bigun

I agree,but IF passing another law specific to illegal aliens is what it takes to get them deported,that's what we need to do.
