Are you ok?

@Jack Russell

Yup!

Why would I criticize anyone for doing something right?

I still don't like him and still consider him to be a career opportunist, but you can't slam anyone for doing the right thing, regardless of who they are or WHY they are doing it.

It's so funny because DeSantis does, while Trump........talks trash......and that almost always nowadays about actual conservatives **nononono* **nononono* But hey, DeSantis still seems to live rent free in the heads of Trumps disciples, even though he dropped out of the race, even though he gave his support to Trump. I guess he must scare Trump and his supporters, even now.

@GtHawk

The only thing that scares me about that little turd is his groupies.

You got that right.  Same as with Cruz.  Trump zealots are hell-bent and determined to drive away every last DeSantis supporter between now and November.

The thing that stands out to me is that DeSantis is supporting Abbott even though Abbott endorsed Trump, because on this issue it was the right thing to do. If the shoe were on the other foot, and Abbott had endorsed DeSantis, thin-skinned Trump would have been trashing both of them.

@Hoodat

You are delusional.

This is nothing more than an  attempt by "Sore Losers,Inc" to try to rally support for their little "lust bunny"
in order to try to make sure Trump doesn't win the election so you can do your little "We TOLD you so!" "Superiority Dances" if he doesn't win.

And let's face it,due to DNC cheating and sore groupies like you,it's gonna be tough for Trump,or anyone else not supported by  "World Wide Government,Inc" to win.

So,I hope that you and the other "But..,...,but.....,he is RICH AND RUDE!" airheads enjoy yourselves at your "superiority dance classes",because if Trump is defeated you will suffer as much as everyone else, and if he wins, you still suffer BECAUSE he won.

Texas Stripped of Powers in Border Security Bill

Newsweek by Sean O'Driscoll 2/6/2024

Conservatives have attacked a provision of the new border security bill that would only allow legal challenges to be made in Washington D.C.

The bill would strip the power of Texas and other states to challenge some of the its provisions in their local federal court.

Conservative commentators were quick to denounce the provision, contained on page 221 of the bill. Bill Shipley, who was a federal prosecutor for over 20 years, decried the its court provisions on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday.

"This would prevent plaintiffs - like the State of Texas - from filing suit in Texas federal courts. This is corrupt," he wrote.

After outlining the provisions under which immigrants can seek judicial review of a deportation order, the bill states:

"The United States District Court for the District of Columbia shall have sole and original jurisdiction to hear challenges, whether constitutional or otherwise, to the validity of this section or any written policy directive, written policy guideline, written procedure, or the implementation thereof."

I love to see Cruz  get wound  up  when he gets mad about something.

Don't hold your breath  waiting for someone on the left to challenge him to a debate on this issue.

Border crisis: Gov. Abbott to expand Operation Lone Star along border

Fox7 by Rudy Koski  2/7/2024

EAGLE PASS, Texas - The expansion of border enforcement is expected to target specific locations along the Rio Grande between official Ports of Entry. The promise of a ramp up by Gov. Greg Abbott came on Thursday afternoon at Shelby Park in Eagle Pass.

The site was seized by state officials last year after a series of migrant surges into Texas. The expansion plan comes after 14 governors, earlier this week, told Abbott they would send extra manpower to Texas.

"So, the next step is, working with the National Guard on plans as we speak right now, to expand the National Guard effort along the border region," Gov. Abbott said. "We're going to work on strategies to ensure the capabilities of the National Guard to add more soldiers, more resources, more capabilities, so they can be even more successful."

An enforcement ramp up is supported by State Rep. Ellen Troxclair.

"I think we have no choice," said the Lakeway Republican.

Any increase in enforcement is expected to be condemned by immigration advocates. Troxclair, who is a member of the Texas House Homeland Security Committee, believes the current border policy by the Biden Administration justifies a ramp up.

"We have the constitutional right as a state to secure our state," said Troxclair.

Nearly two dozen state lawmakers, including Rep. Troxclair, were invited to the governor's Thursday event in South Texas. She is not surprised a new enforcement plan will build on what’s been done at Shelby Park.

"The numbers are going down. It is working," Troxclair said. "So, I just think that we have to keep our foot on the gas, keep going, and keep putting up those roadblocks as much as possible for the cartels."

Texas is right. Biden’s failure to secure the border leaves states no choice but to take matters into their own hands. As President, I will end this humanitarian crisis once and for all. I will secure the border and destroy the business model of the drug cartels. A country without borders is not a country at all. #Kennedy24

Five More States to Send National Guard to Texas Border

Texas Scorecard by  Luca Cacciatore February 12, 2024

The number of Republican states aiding Texas’ border security effort continues to swell.

Five more states led by Republican governors are preparing to deploy national guardsmen and other personnel to the Texas-Mexico border.

Texas Scorecard previously reported that Florida, Idaho, Ohio, Oklahoma, and North Dakota either had personnel in Texas at the border or were working to send some.

Now, after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s February 4 press conference that included 13 Republican governors in Eagle Pass, top officials in Iowa, Indiana, Louisiana, Utah, and Tennessee are also pledging to send troops to Texas.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee was the first to move, pledging during the border trip that his state was working on a timeline for additional aid to Texas’ multi-agency border security effort, known as Operation Lone Star.

WVLT-TV 8 reported that the newly pledged troops would constitute deployments of a second and third wave of Tennessee guardsmen. The first wave is expected to deploy to the border within 60 days.

“Tennessee will continue. We are the Volunteer State. We have had hundreds of troops on the border. We are prepared even today to send additional troops. We are working with the Texas Department of Military to do just that,” Lee said.

Speaking at a news conference in the Iowa State Capitol one day after returning, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds said she informed Abbott that her state “stands ready” to send Iowa National Guard soldiers and Iowa State Patrol officers to Texas.

Texas Land Commissioner Buckingham to discuss state takeover of Fronton Island

FRONTON ISLAND, Texas (Nexstar) — Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham will head to McAllen on Monday to discuss the acquisition of Fronton Island, a stretch of land in the Rio Grande River where the state recently seized operational control.

Fronton Island is a 170-acre area in Starr County. According to the Texas Military Department, the island in the Rio Grande was “lawless” and was associated with high cartel activity and smuggling operations involving “narcotics, weapons, money and high-value individuals.”

The General Land Office worked with the TMD throughout the fall to assume control of Fronton Island after Buckingham granted permission for the Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Rangers to police the area in September.

Texas Plants Flag on Border Island

Law enforcement is clearing Fronton Island to halt criminal cartel activity.

\
Texas Rangers with the Department of Public Safety have planted a Texas Flag on Fronton Island in the Rio Grande River.

The 170-acre island situated in the Rio Grande River between Starr County and Mexico is a hot spot for cartel trafficking.

Three suspected cartel members armed with rifles were documented crossing Fronton Island in August.

Two of the three men were later arrested by DPS.

In September, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham authorized DPS policing and patrolling on the state-owned island.

Buckingham told Fox News, “Law enforcement has found some ammunition, suspicious devices on it. And we just feel like with the border crisis, it was really important to ensure that Texas law enforcement have access to these islands, so we can help secure our border.”

“While the federal government refuses to safeguard Texas communities, the General Land Office will step up and assist our state in its robust border security efforts,” said Buckingham.

That photo makes me proud to be an  American. If I were 50 years younger,I'd want to be there with  them.

Hell,I would be happy  to be there with  them now if they would fix me up in a "blind" with a sniper  rifle, food, water, and plenty of ammunition.

I now  have trouble walking,or I would volunteer to  take a more active role.

Too bad Kemp couldn't step in back in 2020 when Democrats spent four days creating enough votes to win two US Senate seats and the White House.  Maybe if you had enforced election laws in Georgia, we wouldn't be complaining about Biden not enforcing immigration laws in Texas.
