PHOENIX — Arizona Republican Party Chair Jeff DeWit resigned Wednesday after audio was leaked of him apparently offering Kari Lake a financial incentive to stay out of the 2024 U.S. Senate race.

DeWit’s departure comes as The Daily Mail, a British news organization, released audio on Tuesday from the March 2023 conversation between the two. DeWit, in announcing his resignation, said the clip was a “deceptive tactic” and a “selectively edited audio recording.”

“I said things I regret, but I realize when hearing Lake’s recording that I was set up,” DeWit said in a statement.

“I believe she orchestrated this entire situation to have control over the state party and it is obvious from the recording that she crafted her performance responses with the knowledge that she was recording it, intending to use this recording later to portray herself as a hero in her own hero.

I am not one of those very powerful people back East.

If the GOP/RNC had anything to offer the deplorables, it would not feel the need to rig its primaries.  Same goes for Dems.

Michael Patrick Leahy appears on Steve Bannon War Romm discussing, in part, the Jeff DeWit message to Kari Lake and who from “back east” was the originator of the message to bribe Mrs Lake to stay out of the Arizona senate race.   

As expected, the sources for MPL’s report outline that Mitch McConnell and the National Republican Senatorial Committee originated the proposal.  This should not be a surprise to anyone who reads CTH.   The NRSC is primarily funded by the biggest lobbying group, the U.S Chamber of Commerce.  The USCoC fund the legislative priorities of the Senate and Mitch McConnell does their bidding.  In essence the bribe money would come from the USCoC into the NRSC.
