They had enough to knock off a Speaker... Let's see if that cost them power or increased it... One thing that people know for sure now is that they mean it.

Well, the difference is that the Democrats almost unanimously supported the efforts of a handful of dissenting Republicans to remove McCarthy as speaker. Those same Democrats are not going to be joining these dissenting Republicans to stop all spending across the board.
What bugs me so much about things like this is that it is deliberate grandstanding with no hope of success. There is no way the Democrats are going to roll over and give Republicans everything they want on the border. What might have a chance of working is a negotiation where Republicans get at least some of what they're looking for on the border. But that kind of compromise can't happen when you have a handful of Republicans who will support only in all or nothing proposition. That handful of holdouts outs will destroy the GOP leverage, and give the Democrats every incentive to hold out until enough moderate Republicans agree to pass a clean spending resolution with no border provisions at all.
If you want to keep the moderates on board, you can't make it in all or nothing proposition.
