Paxton’s comments come in response to border patrol sources reporting a record-breaking number of illegal alien encounters in December.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is blasting the Biden administration for “aiding and abetting” cartels, after reports revealed that the month of December saw a record-breaking number of illegal border crossings.

During an interview with Fox News, Paxton said that the Biden administration is encouraging the cartels to bring as many people as possible across the border.

We’ve got the Biden administration, as I said, aiding and abetting the cartels, encouraging the cartels to make billions of dollars and to bring as many people here as fast as possible and as soon as possible.

Paxton added that border patrol used to stop the cartels from smuggling aliens across the border but now facilitates a “handoff.”

“They [border patrol] were there to stop people from coming across the border, and now the cartel doesn’t try to hide people. They don’t try to sneak people across. They take them directly to border patrol,” said Paxton. “It’s like a handoff. It’s a partnership. It’s not the way it was supposed to be, but that’s where the Biden administration has taken us.”
