Trump Tossed from Colorado Ballot

By a 4 to 3 margin, the Colorado Supreme Court barred former president Donald Trump from appearing on their state's ballot in the 2024 election. The justification cited was the insurrection clause in the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution.

President Biden praised the Colorado Court, saying "I've already declared that Trump is guilty of supporting an insurrection. It's about time that our courts do their part to ensure that he never again holds elective office. I'm pleased to see that some our nation's most influential luminaries including Bette Midler, Rob Reiner, Mia Farrow, and George Takei have sided with me on this crucial issue." Former Attorney General Bill Barr predicted that the Court's "hyper aggressive position will prove counterproductive."

Trump immediately denounced the decision. "Questioning the reported results of an election is not a crime," he said. "Encouraging voters to peacefully protest those reported results is not incitement of insurrection. None of the people involved in the January 6, 2021 events at the US Capitol have been charged with or convicted of insurrection. The continuing effort to disqualify the leading candidate opposing Biden's disastrous presidency shows who the real enemies of democracy are."

In related news, a poll of those who voted by mail in the 2020 election revealed that 21% admitted that they filled out a ballot for a friend or family member; 19% admitted that a friend or family member filled out a ballot on their behalf; 17% admitted that they voted in a state where they are no longer a permanent resident; and 17% said they signed a ballot for a friend or family. All of these actions are illegal. Considering the fact that write-in votes for Biden were double those for Trump, the assertions that the 2020 election was the most "safe and secure" in American history have been proven false.

Polls Turn Against Biden

Despite the constant barrage of anti-Trump propaganda from the mainstream media and the unprecedented Department of Justice abuse of the legal system aimed at hamstringing Trump's campaign to be elected to a second term as president, numerous polls indicate that his chances of success in the 2024 election appear to be good.

Only 14% of voters say Biden's economic policies have helped them. Forty-six percent say they have been hurt by these policies. His overall approval (33%) vs disapproval (64%) is the worst polling for an incumbent president this far ahead of an election since the advent of the polling era in the 1930s. A Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll in selected swing states found Biden trailing Trump by 11% in North Carolina, 7% in Georgia, 6% in Wisconsin, 5% in Nevada, 4% in Michigan and 3% in Arizona.

In an effort to try to turn the tide, Biden announced he is pardoning all Americans arrested, prosecuted, or convicted on federal charges for marijuana use. "Criminal records for marijuana use and possession have imposed needless barriers to employment, housing, and educational opportunities," Biden said. "Too many lives have been upended because of our failed approach to marijuana. It's time that we right these wrongs."

In related news, Hunter Biden threw a monkey wrench into his father's bid for reelection by threatening to leave the country if Trump is elected president next November. "The risk of having a Trump-controlled Department of Justice persecute me is a powerful incentive for me to flee," the younger Biden said. Democrat strategist David Axelrod lamented "adding the incentive of ridding the country of the President's sleazy son could motivate even more voters to cast ballots for Trump."

Breathing Fuels Global Warming

A study from the United Kingdom Center for Ecology and Hydrology found that every human exhales nitrous oxide and 31% exhale methane. Those who did not exhale methane in their breath probably released the gas via burping and flatulence. Since both vegetarians' and meat-eaters' emissions are similar in magnitude, future diet changes are unlikely to offset these environmental pollutants.

Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works Tom Carper (D-Del) called these findings "disturbing. Every breath we take contributes to the degradation of our environment. We must do everything in our power to reduce our deleterious impact."

The measures Carper suggested include "increasing the number of abortions, making euthanasia easier, and discouraging unnecessary physical activity. Every baby nipped in the bud before birth eliminates adding another person to the mass of people exhaling pollutants. Loosening the restrictions on abortion would help in this regard. Likewise, encouraging more people to choose euthanasia over the continuation of added decades of useless life would be both an efficient and merciful means of eliminating the surplus population."

"Finally, for those not wanting to take these more effective options we could discourage extraneous physical activity," Carper added. "The volume of exhaled pollutants emitted during athletic events, in gyms, jogging, or walking exceeds that of persons satisfied to sit and watch TV. The stay-at-home edicts used during the pandemic could be re-initiated as an environmental emergency measure. It would be most expeditious if all of these options could be put in place as regulations by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)."

In related news, the number of "excess" deaths among young Americans that began during the pandemic has continued through 2023. Food and Drug Administration commissioner Robert Califf called the new trend of lower life expectancy "catastrophic. COVID-19 deaths dropped 84% from the first three quarters of 2021 to the same period in 2023. These bulk of these excess deaths are from cardiac mortality and stroke." Ironically, cardiac disease and stroke are notable adverse effects of the mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

"School Choice Undermines Democracy"

This week, American Federation of Teachers (AFT) President Randi Weingarten assailed school choice for "undermining our democracy. Giving parents the option of selecting which school they want their children to attend introduces an unwarranted variation in what these children will learn. Disagreement and disunity are the inevitable outcome."

"First of all, parents aren't qualified to judge what constitutes a good education," Weingarten argued. "The public schools have a uniform curriculum that is designed to ensure that every student receives an equal education free of the prejudices and misconceptions their parents seek to ingrain in their children."

"Second, those running alternative schools lack the teacher training required of public school teachers," Weingarten added. "All manner of extraneous, contradictory, and irrelevant topics and methods may be used to divert students down paths leading to irrational religious piety or anarchic individualism instead of learning the collective values necessary for living in our modern democracy."

Weingarten admitted that "shutting down the public schools during the pandemic may have been a mistake. Many parents need a place to send their children during the day while they work to earn a living. Alternative schools that stayed open filled this need. We must learn from that mistake and ensure that in the future no options outside the public school system are permitted."

Gay Porn Video Made in Senate

Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) expressed anger that his former aide Aidan Maese-Czeropski was caught video-taping a gay porn scene in a Senate Hearing Room. "I'm not opposed to gay sex, per se, but it was inconsiderate of him to embarass me by using his access to Senate facilities for his own entertainment," Cardin complained.

Maese-Czeropski maintains that "the setting for the video was integral to the artistic message of the movie--namely that the voters and taxpayers are being raped by the people they elect to represent them in Congress."

Episodes in the Migrant Crisis

In Texas, Governor Greg Abbott (R) signed legislation making border crossings illegal and punishable with jail time. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has vowed to "fight this law. We whipped the Texicans at the Alamo and we will do it again if we have to." President Biden phoned the Mexican President and agreed that "the flow of asylum seekers must not be interrupted." Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas and White House homeland security adviser Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall have been dispatched to Mexico to work out the details.

About 60% of US households headed by illegal aliens are on welfare. This is twice the percentage of American citizens who are on welfare. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre emphasized that "this discrepancy shows why we must expedite the process of awarding these new arrivals full US citizenship. It's the only way for us to counter the MAGA argument against allowing these refugees into our country."

Illegal immigrants being housed and fed in New York City are unhappy with the accommodations and the food. One recent arrival complained that "the plane was crowded, then the bus ride was uncomfortable, the food lacks variety, it's too cold, we don't have streaming services, nobody makes my bed, and now, the tents are too shoddy!" When reminded that they are not prisoners and are free to leave almost all refused. One resident pointed out that "President Biden invited us to come. It's his responsibility to see that our needs are met."

New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) said "if I were president I'd deploy a real decompression strategy. This would entail shipping migrants from the border to all over the country and giving them three years to get it together. We tell them, 'Here's where you're going to go for a three-year period to stabilize yourself.' We have 108,000 towns, villages, and cities across America. Each one of them needs to take its fair share of migrants." While Adams isn't yet president, he has set up a "re-ticketing center" where migrants will be given a one-way plane ticket out of town to any other city in the US.
