George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley blasted the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling on Tuesday that barred former President Donald Trump from the state’s presidential ballot.

The court ruled Trump was disqualified from appearing on the ballot in the 2024 election in a 4-3 decision.

“It puts this on the rocket docket for the Supreme Court,” Turley told “Hannity” guest host Kayleigh McEnany, a former White House press secretary in the Trump administration.

“They’ve got to get involved first of all because there’s not much time to make a final decision and also have to get involved because this is dead wrong,” Turley added. “I think they are dead wrong on the law. I just published a piece in Georgetown for this theory. I think it’s fundamentally flawed, both in terms of the language of the Constitution and the history.”

Not only is the Secretary of State barred from putting Trump's name on the ballot, she is barred from counting any write-in votes for Trump. So the Colorado Supreme Court is compelling the state's top election official to *invalidate* thousands and thousands of legally-cast votes

The Colorado case showed that Democrats are terrified of democracy.

The RNC has filed briefs in court to fight this exact kind of interference in Minnesota and Michigan, where our arguments have been successful.

We will continue fighting this case up to the Supreme Court.

Trump blocked from the ballot in Colorado. When a court in another country disqualifies an opposition candidate from running, we say, “That’s not a real democracy.” Now it’s happening here.

Not only is this a precedent setting ruling against a litigant who hasn't even been charged.  Co Supreme court members should be sweating whether their ruling might encroach as impeachable, oon their part.

Putting out rulings that are crazily outside 100% of the basic tenants of law?  If Trump wins, I hope he sics his DOJ on them , to investigate what level of influence was applied, and from where. 

When our courts start disqualifying candidates for what appears to be ideology?  We're through as a nation.

I don't think there really needed to be any outside pressure on those justices. The Supreme Court was 7-0 Democrat appointees, and the majority likely had their own biases.

What is more noteworthy is that it was only a 4-3 decision, and one of the Democrat appointees filed an absolutely blistering dissent attacking the decision.
