UPenn donor withdraws $100M donation after president's congressional testimony on antisemitism
Ross Stevens of Stone Ridge Asset Management pulled his $100 million gift to the school

By Eric Revell FOXBusiness

A major donor to the University of Pennsylvania is withdrawing a donation worth roughly $100 million as a protest against the college’s handling of antisemitism on campus and the controversial testimony by UPenn's president on the subject.

Ross Stevens, founder and CEO of Stone Ridge Asset Management, donated to Penn in 2017, a gift that consisted of partnership units in the firm which are now valued at around $100 million to help the university establish a financial innovation center. Attorneys for Stevens sent the university a letter indicating the school violated Stone Ridge’s limited partnership agreement through its failure to adhere to anti-discrimination and anti-harassment rules. The news was first reported by Axios.

The letter said that Stevens and Stone Ridge "are appalled by the University’s stance on antisemitism on campus."

It added that Penn’s "permissive approach to hate speech calling for violence against Jews and laissez faire attitude toward harassment and discrimination against Jewish students would violate any policies of rules that prohibit harassment and discrimination based on religion, including those of Stone Ridge."

UPenn board of trustees holds emergency meeting amid calls for president to resign over antisemitism hearing
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro earlier called Magill's comments "unacceptable."

The University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees held an emergency meeting on Thursday after the school's president faced backlash over her comments on antisemitism during a congressional hearing.

According to the school's newspaper, the Daily Pennsylvanian, the meeting began at 9 a.m. and ended sometime in the afternoon. University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill was still in her position by the end of the meeting, according to the report.

A planned Board of Trustees Budget & Finance Committee Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday was canceled, online records show.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the University of Pennsylvania for comment.

During a congressional hearing on antisemitism on Tuesday, Magill was asked by Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., if "calling for the genocide of Jews violate Penn’s rules or code of conduct? Yes or no?"

"If the speech turns into conduct, it can be harassment. Yes," Magill responded, later adding "It is a context-dependent decision."

"This is unacceptable. Ms. Magill, I’m gonna give you one more opportunity for the world to see your answer. Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate Penn’s code of conduct when it comes to bullying and harassment? Yes or no?" Stefanik then asked.

"It can be harassment," the University of Pennsylvania president responded.

I'm rather sad none of the Congressmen didn't have the wit to shoot back at the "depends on the context" replies, something like.   "Oh, I guess you're right, advocating the extermination of the Jews wouldn't be harassment in the context of a Nazi Party rally with only Nazis present, or in the context of a HAMAS training event with only HAMAS fighters present, but is there any actual context at an American university in which it would not be harassment of every Jew or person of good-will within earshot of the remark?  Is there any context at your university in which it would not realistically be harassment?  If so, maybe this committee should be investigating why such a circumstance exists at your university."
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.
