On Saturday, the U.S. pledged $3 billion to help developing countries mitigate and combat climate change.

“Today, I am also proud to announce a new $3 billion pledge to the Green Climate Fund, which helps developing countries invest in resilience, clean energy and nature-based solutions,” Vice President Kamala Harris said Friday during a speech at the U.N. climate summit in Dubai.
 
The funding comes at a time when Congress is sharply divided, and Republicans have been very vocal about wanting to cut spending overall, and fight President Biden’s agenda.

A source told Reuters that the pledge was subject to fund availability.

In her speech, Harris also called for more climate action in her speech.

So let me get this straight. It seems a majority of 'developing' countries are in equatorial regions or at least between the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn.  Are we paying for their air conditioning now?
