Ohio Republican Party endorses Donald Trump in 2024 election

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Republican Party has endorsed ex-President Donald Trump’s 2024 bid to return to the White House.

The state GOP’s central committee voted Friday at their quarterly meeting to endorse Trump, making Ohio the first of any state Republican party to endorse in the race.

He got a single “no” vote.

“We want to send the signal that the nominating process needs to end and we need to unite,” said Alex Triantafilou, chairman of the Ohio Republican Party, following the vote. “Our focus needs to be on defeating a failed president, Joe Biden.”

Bob Paduchik, a former Ohio Republican Party chairman who ran Trump’s winning 2016 and 2020 Ohio campaigns, attended the meeting and spoke with Trump on the phone following the meeting to inform him of the endorsement.

“He was very pleased,” Paduchik said.

Individual committee members were effusive in their praise of the former president, saying he presided over a strong economy and a a period of international peace.

Endorsements don't necessarily add up to votes, however he more than likely will be the nominee.

Two things -- his felonies and his health. Those are the unknown outcomes and we're about a year out.

It's a fear vote. If anybody opposes him, they're worried they'll be blackballed.

I'm casting my actual vote in the Ohio primary regardless of what the "committee" says about the nomination.

The question still remains, how are his felonies going to impact his chances of being seated @Right_in_Virginia and what has the RNC done to ensure a fair election this time around?  Nothing has changed except for the 90+ felonies he's facing.

Yes he has a substantial lead, but that lead means nothing should they find a way to bar him from running. 

All DeSantis and Haley need to do is hang in there long enough until they've found a way to keep him from running.

Secondly, they are never going to let Brandon run -- it will be Big Mike or Rice, or Jarrett or Holder -- Trump will not win against either of them.  Just sayin'

Interesting -- I thought Deutche bank stated that they were cutting future ties with Trump back in '21.

The president has two personally guaranteed mortgages with Deutsche Bank. They come due in 2023 and 2024.

I don't believe that convictions will be a legal impediment to him running (because he will still be free pending appeals) or to actually serving.   

But I do believe they likely will cause him to lose enough support to impact the results of the election.  Not everyone currently planning to vote for Trump is a die-hard Trumper.  A bunch of Republicans are backing him only because he is the frontrunner.

That's a valid point. Plenty of MAGA types talk about how horrible the GOP is, and how they'd like to see it die.  Probably those same people will bitch up a storm if Trump gets elected with a Democratic Congress and can't get anything done.

All you have to do is look up some of the big influencers for Trump on social media. Note how many of them are utterly refusing to vote downballot. They're voting Trump, and to Hell with everyone else. Johnny Maga, miguelfornia, Dilley, catturd, Loomer.
