John Heinz and the UN can eat shit and die!

The UN's Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) will publish its so-called global food systems’ road map during the upcoming COP28 climate summit in Dubai which will kick off on Thursday and extend nearly two weeks until mid-December. FAO's first-of-its-kind document will recommend nations that "over-consume meat" to limit their consumption as part of a broader effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Bloomberg reported.

"The failure of leading meat and dairy companies to reduce emissions underlines the urgent need for more policy focus on the food and agriculture sector," Jeremy Coller, the chair and founder of the FAIRR Initiative, an investor network that works with financial institutions to promote climate-friendly agriculture worldwide, said in a recent statement.

"Food system emissions deserve a place at the top of the table, alongside energy and transport, as they represent an estimated third of greenhouse gas emissions and 40% of methane," he continued. "Investors hope the first-ever publication of a food and agriculture road map at COP28 this month will catalyze the transition to 1.5 degrees and a more sustainable food system."

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

People make fun of this. But they’ve already successfully made steak a luxury for most people in America
Meat as a whole is headed in that direction for 25% of households
It’s funny until you realize they’re accomplishing their goal. They aren’t asking, they’re informing

There is truth in this, in that prices have caused many to reduce consumption.

Remember, too, that red meat is the primary source of dietary zinc, and that zinc is used by the body to combat viruses.

They won't have to pry it...they'll just make it so expensive that we can't afford to buy it.

It's almost that way.

Ditto!

I buy what's on sale -- today one store had chicken and pork somewhat reasonably priced.

Tomorrow I venture out to Farmer Joe's for beef -- hopefully they'll have a couple of things on sale. I have beef in one freezer shelf just about full -- and I need to top off the other freezer with some beef tomorrow. I should have gone there today as the sale ended -- they had NY strip steaks on sale for $9.99/lb and brisket burgers (pretty darn tasty) for $5.99/lb.

It is getting costly and there is just no way around that.  I thank the Lord for the food that we can afford even more so these days.

Two things I'm concerned about; Farmer Joe's just built a 50,000 sq. ft. store and IIRC opened just after the pandemic.  A year later the hurricane hit, so they had to recover from that.  Now the price of beef is soaring and their meat dept. has shrunk (especially beef). I just don't see how they are going to stay afloat.   Secondly, how are the cattle ranchers going to stay in business??

No worries, though, you can bet with Gates buying up so much farmland, he'll have plenty of meat.

I enjoy my beef, no doubt about it.  Chickpeas are high in zinc and so is dark chocolate -- but cocoa has gone up as well just like everything else.

Why is everything negative coming from the U.N. always only directed at America and Israel?
Why is the U.N. not telling China or Africa to stop eating meat?
Only the U.S. every time with every new 'restriction'.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

Because they want to weaken Americans any way possible.

We really should quit sending them money, and let them see how that works out.

It's like when the super rich statists jet to the Davos WEF meetings in private planes while they bitch about climate change allegedly caused by oil and gas. John Kerry says farming should be eliminated "for the climate," while you can bet he and his frowsy wife continue to dine lavishly at whichever one of their five mansions they currently occupy.

Well, okay, eliminate meat consumption, farming, home heating oil, travel, etc., for the hoi polloi, not for us elites.
