Seems to me the job of Mossad ought not to be "negotiating" with hamas, but rather to find and to kill as many of the top leaders as it can.

But at some point self preservation should kick in and the "good" Palis should shun these actions and try to build a decent life for themselves. I'm not such an optimist that I think hate will ever change. But I am optimistic enough to think that you can have a neighboring country or ethnicity that you can still hate but exist with...in order to have a better life for yourself.

You are assuming some level of rational thought with these Palestinians.  They are incapable of rational thought.  For 100 years they have been saying no to the Balfour two state solution.  They subscribe only to the elimination of Israel and the death of all Jews.  Anyone not subscribing to that thought is killed in their society as a traitor.

When a rabid group of people are so poisoned, there is only one solution.  Total annihilation.  TOTAL.  The hell with concern with collateral damage.  There is no such thing.

To use the words of Admiral William Halsey, 'in a nation like Japan, where the civilian population support the military as they do, the only good Jap civilian, is a Jap civilian that has been dead for six months or more.'  Just substitute the word Jap with the word Palestinian.  Again, there is no such thing as collateral damage.  Just genocidal maniacal enemies, taught from birth to kill all  Jews.

Amid the ongoing war between the Islamic terrorists of Hamas and the Middle East's primary democracy, Israel, Hamas and its supporters often have referenced the human cost to civilians in Gaza as Israel works to wipe out the terrorists.

It's not surprising there are civilian casualties there, given that Hamas' terrorists frequently locate their military bases at or near – even underneath – hospitals, schools and historic sites, seeking to use them as shields.

The Joe Biden White House verbally has continued its commitment to Israel's right to defend itself and fight terrorism.

But the actual words have taken on a new meaning, as they reprise the messaging that has been coming from Hamas itself.

State Dept: Hamas refuses to release women hostages to prevent sharing horrors of captivity
Israel says 18 female hostages remain in Gaza, most of whom were taken from a music festival

The State Department says the U.S. suspects one reason Hamas is refusing to release its remaining female hostages is to prevent them from revealing the horrors they experienced in captivity.

Israeli officials believe Hamas still has roughly 18 women in custody, most of whom were kidnapped from an Oct. 7 music festival near the Gaza border, according to Axios. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller says that Hamas' refusal to release the women led to the collapse of the cease-fire on Friday.

"It seems that one of the reasons they don't want to turn women over that they've been holding hostage — and the reason this pause fell apart — is that they don't want these women to be able to talk about what happened to them during their time in custody," Miller said during a Monday press briefing.

The statement comes amid heightened tensions regarding Hamas' brutal treatment of women during and after its Oct. 7 massacre. Israel has documented extensive instances of rape and sexual assault and has called on the United Nations to take action.

IDF chief says Khan Younis surrounded, announcing new phase of Gaza invasion

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi says the military is encircling southern Gaza’s Khan Younis as it launches the third stage of its ground offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

In a press conference, Halevi also says the military knew in advance that Hezbollah would resume its attacks on Israel’s north following the weeklong truce with Hamas.

“After 60 days since the beginning of the war, our forces are surrounding the Khan Younis area in southern Gaza. At the same time, we are working to deepen the achievement in the northern part of the Strip. Anyone who thought that the IDF would not know how to resume the fighting after the truce was mistaken. Hamas is feeling this strongly,” Halevi says.

“In the last few days, many operatives, including senior commanders, were eliminated,” he says.

Hamas terrorists were given how-to cheat sheets for their Oct. 7 attack in Israel, including Arabic phrases translated into Hebrew for “I will kill you’’ — and excruciatingly detailed maps of a military base that suggested help from spies.

Documents seized from the terror group indicate the sneak assault had been in the making for years, Israel said Monday.

In the nearly two months since the war began, Israeli military officials have collected troves of documents from the terrorists in Gaza that revealed they carried a thorough map of an Israeli military base, as well as hostage-taking phrasebooks, into the surprise Oct. 7 attack, according to materials released by the Israel Defense Forces.

The documents and map of the military base were complex and included the location of Israeli troops, their weapons and roles at the site near the Gaza border fence.

The carefully hand-drawn map was far more detailed than what Israel thought Hamas was capable of producing and could only have been compiled through the use of “inside knowledge,” an Israeli intelligence source told the Guardian.
