Shocking analysis: Only 1 out of 16 black student applicants accepted by Harvard DESERVE to be there based on merit alone
11/22/2023 // Cassie B. // 4.9K Views

When the U.S. Supreme Court ruled this summer that universities can no longer consider race as a factor when making their admissions decisions, the idea that getting into college would be based on merit was good news for some students but bad news for others.
Everyone from teachers and parents to admission counselors had to figure out what the decision from Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard and its companion case, Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina would mean for them, but no one would feel its effects more deeply than high school seniors.

In a recent piece for The Washington Post, writer Hannah Natanson followed two high school students who were hoping to get into Ivy League colleges in the wake of the decision and showed how it influenced their approach to college applications.

One white high school senior they followed, Cole Clemmons of Tennessee, was considering a career in international relations or environmental science. He remembers his Korean-American roommate at an international studies program responding to the news of the Supreme Court decision by saying “This is going to help me," and it occurred to Cole that it could help him, too.

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

This shouldn’t be shocking to anyone
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

1.)  As a white guy, I shouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole.

2.)  What counts as "black"? (Elizabeth Warren was Native American)

3.)  Harvard is renowned for difficult incoming student acceptance, but easy A's once you're admitted.

Doesn't matter. Harvard has fallen, years ago. These days, a degree from Harvard is a joke.
It will be difficult for them to find jobs outside of government. Like having pink hair, or calling yourself 'them'.
Harvard has nothing to do with 'education'. It is just an indoctrination process and nothing more.
Harvard people are likely to add very little value to a workplace, while causing tons of political trouble.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

Harvard,IMNSHO,seems to be more of a social gathering than an educational facility.

You misspelled "socialist".

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I am an American Citizen. I recognize no "Ruling Class", only public servants, elected or otherwise who are our employees..

I survived my run-in with Cancer, because I recognized it.
I knew what I had when I got to the Doctor's.

Now there's a bunch of delusional folks out there with money who thinks that makes them our rulers.
They may be rich, but they are also delusional. They may think they are at the pinnacle, but high places can crumble from the bottom up.
They can't make me do a damned thing I don't want to.
They are not my rulers.

Fair enough.

Let's see  you walking down the street outside of the WH with your rifle in your hands.

@sneakypete

There was a time when I could walk about Washington DC. Did so several times on school trips to the Smithsonian, Art Galleries, even to an old glorious theater there to see Fiddler on the Roof. In the earlier part of that era, my father (because I was not old enough) could fill out an order form and stick it in the mail with a check, and the fellow who delivered the parcel post would bring the gun he ordered, be it a rifle or shotgun or pistol.

These supposed rulers changed all that, by changing the rules, not because regular folks got shot but because some of their self-appointed (in many cases) group did.
Not long after they changed the rules, it really wasn't safe for a white boy to go to DC and wander about, especially at night.

Right now, except for seeing a few relatives out that way, I really have no desire to be within 100 miles of the White House, with a gun or otherwise.

And I would just as soon the Federal Government afford me the same consideration by not walking up and down my street with a rifle.

Can't argue with any of that, although IF I could still walk more than 50 feet at a time,I WOULD love to go to DC on a DAYTIME museum tour.

NO nighttime events.
