During recent investigation, Fox News revealed that Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) is a member of a secret Facebook group, the Palestinian American Congress, which has been accused of promoting pro-Hamas content and anti-Israel sentiments. The revelation comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East following the surprise attacks carried out in early October by Hamas terrorists against Israel.
The secret group, which is hidden from public view on Facebook, reportedly features posts that glorify Hamas, particularly in the wake of their recent conflict with Israel, according to Fox News. The group is supportive of Hamas, despite Hamas being recognized as a terrorist organization by several countries, including the United States, due to its attacks against Israeli civilians.
Fox News reported that the Facebook group’s founder, Maher Abdel-qader, has been linked to Tlaib and other liberal politicians. Abdel-qader has previously faced criticism for antisemitic posts, including those questioning the Holocaust.
The controversial nature of the Facebook group was exposed by Fox News, which disclosed multiple posts within the group. For instance, a post dated October 12 contained a threatening message towards Israel, accompanied by an image depicting an Israeli woman held captive by a Hamas fighter. “We don’t want to throw you in the sea,” the post stated. “We want you to ride it back from where you came.”
