Protesters hold sit-in at Statute of Liberty to call for Hamas war ceasefire

At least dozens of protesters held a sit-in at Liberty Island on Monday to demonstrate against the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
The activists, who gathered at the base of the Statue of Liberty, were demanding an immediate pause in the fighting, CBS News reported.
Demonstrators calling for a ceasefire gathered at the base of the Statue of Liberty on Monday.
"We refuse to allow a genocide to be carried out in our names. Ceasefire now to save lives! Never again for anyone!," read a social media post from a group called Jewish Voice For Peace.
The protesters held signs reading "Ceasefire," and "Palestinians should be free."
