White Michigan Commissioner Confirms Race After Stating ‘I’m Feeling Black and I’m Feeling Female’ at Board Meeting

A white male county commissioner in Michigan confirmed he is indeed a white man after saying “I’m feeling Black and I’m feeling female” at a county meeting on Tuesday.
John Gisler, a Republican Kalamazoo County Commissioner, made the comment at a board meeting Tuesday when the board was discussing a motion to ask employees to voluntarily disclose their sex, race, and ethnicity to the county for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion reasons, the Kalamazoo Gazette first reported.
“It looks like this may go a way I’d rather it not, so I will encourage all the road commission employees, as a black woman tonight, to not go to voluntary their information,” Gisler said, decked out in what appears to be his signature American flag button-down shirt. “I’m feeling black and I’m feeling female.”
The comment was met with a few chuckles from the board before the resolution was ultimately approved in a 5-4 vote.
After the meeting, Gisler confirmed to the Kalamazoo Gazette that he is white and male.
