Israeli military spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said there were still no details on the hospital deaths, adding: "We will get the details and update the public. I don't know to say whether it was an Israeli air strike."

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas declared three days of mourning following the bombardment, according to state media.

Hamas released a statement following the blast calling it a "crime of genocide".

A Canadian Israeli mom was murdered in front of her two young sons by Hamas terrorists — who booby-trapped her body and then used the children as human shields, according to a report.

Adi Vital-Kaploun, 33, was killed by the terrorist group on Oct. 7 in Holit, a kibbutz near the Gaza Strip, her friends told the Globe and Mail of Canada.

The terrorists killed her in front of her two sons, 4-year-old Negev and 4-month-old Eshel, while her husband and their dad, Anani, was partying with friends at another kibbutz, friend Dina Zaslacski told the outlet.

Military officials told the family that Vital-Kaploun’s body was shoved under Negev’s bed and booby-trapped so it would explode if anyone tried to move it, Zaslacski said.

“They put bombs all over her body and her dad was in the house. Thank God he didn’t open the door,” she said, tearfully.

Officials in Gaza issued contradictory statements about casualty numbers, ranging between dozens to hundreds, with video footage reportedly from the scene showing a number of cars on fire near the hospital.

The explosion was reported at the same time that heavy rocket barrages were fired from Gaza toward central Israel.

My blind guess is, Hamas was firing from the hospital and set off their munitions stockpile somehow.

Wouldn't be surprised if one of their rockets exploded on launch starting a chain reaction with their own munitions.

President Abbas cancels planned meeting with Biden after Gaza City hospital blast

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has canceled his scheduled Wednesday meeting with President Joe Biden and other Middle East leaders following news of a deadly blast at a Gaza City hospital, a senior Palestinian official said.

Abbas is apparently withdrawing in protest to the deadly incident, which Hamas claims was an Israeli airstrike, the official – who spoke on the condition of anonymity – said.

Abbas was set to sit down with Biden, King Abdullah II of Jordan and Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi at the meeting just one day after he met again with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

A failed Islamic Jihad rocket launch caused the blast at the Gaza Baptist hospital, an IDF investigation concluded.

“From an analysis of the IDF’s operational systems, an enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed in the vicinity of the hospital, when it was hit,” the IDF said in a statement.

The IDF went on to say that several intelligence sources indicate that "the PIJ organization is responsible for the failed [rocket] fire that hit the hospital,” the Times of Israel reports.
