  • WE are NOT ok!
We made it back from what I consider the downtown area without incident.  Went into this store early this morning, grabbed what we ordered and left.

Since the Hamas attack on Israel I've been more cautious anyways. I realize how lax I had become -- no more.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Pro-Palestinian activists were told not to engage with media during demonstration, but some did

The leaders of a pro-Palestinian rally held at the University of Virginia on Thursday did not want to reveal their identities and discouraged the event attendees from speaking with the media, despite claiming to be Gaza advocates.

"The press here, you guys can all see them, we strongly discourage speaking to them," the masked student organizer hosting the event said. "We would really strongly ask you not identify anyone, especially if you know any of the leaders of this event. Please don't identify them to the press or to anyone else."

Members of the Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Virginia, which organized the event, distributed papers asking the press to "not approach students or organizers for comment." Another Students for Justice in Palestine event held Tuesday at George Washington University similarly discouraged attendees from engaging with reporters.

Nearly all the students at the event, including the organizers, declined repeated requests for comment. However, despite the organizers' attempts to stifle dialogue with the media, some attendees spoke with Fox News Digital.

"My biggest hope is that they manage to overthrow the government of Israel," Alex, a University of Virginia alumni who attended the event, told Fox News Digital. "It's nice to see them making a push against Israel."

Alex did not specify whether she was referring to Palestinians or Hamas terrorists. However, when asked about Hamas' attacks in Israel on Saturday, they responded, "it's great that they're making a move against the IDF."

"There's been a lot of accusations of various atrocities, which I take with a grain of salt," Alex continued. "Only one side has the power to stop the violence, and it's Israel."

Well Israel can stop the violence by eradicating Hamas and then Hezbollah, but it will take the rest of the world stopping financial and other support of terrorists to really make the violence stop.

‘Day of jihad’ protests draw tens of thousands around world as demonstrators clash with cops, burn US, Israel flags
By Chris Nesi
Published Oct. 13, 2023, 3:37 p.m. ET

Tens of thousands of anti-Israel demonstrators flooded streets in more than a dozen countries Friday, clashing with police and burning US and Israeli flags in condemnation of the military counteroffensive underway in Gaza.

The protests were part of a so-called “day of jihad” demanded by former Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal, who urged Arabs and Muslims around the world to “deliver a message of anger that we are with Palestine” after weekly prayers.

Meshaal — who led the Islamist militant group from 2004 to 2017 — currently serves as head of the Hamas diaspora office in Qatar. He called it a “duty” of the governments and people of Israel-neighboring Syria, Lebanon, Egypt and Jordan to join the fight.

But the street protests spread far beyond the Middle East, with at-times violent demonstrations breaking out as far away as Japan, Germany and Australia.
Australia

Australia was the site of a number of vigils and gatherings in support of Israel on Friday, but thousands of demonstrators also took to the streets in Brisbane, Canberra and Perth to voice their opposition to the war.

Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags, shouted slogans and brandished signs bearing anti-Israel messages.

Please remind me again what we went to war in Iraq for?

Global jihad won't be limited to Oct. 13, needless to say.

Will Hamas blowup the Louvre Museum in Paris? They just called in a bomb threat and had the museum evacuated.

Once again, the global call for jihad has been an abject failure.  Sure, there were lots of protests.  Not one muslim stepped forward to give his life for the cause and collect his 72 virgins.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

The main reason they should want to keep their identities secret is because they are complete idiots advocating idiocy.  Free Palestine?  They have a Free Palestine now.   And what did Free Palestine do?  The free government they elected just attacked a neighboring sovereign state as an act of war.  By their actions, the free state of Palestine through their freely elected government declared war on Israel.

To hell with every one of these idiots.  UVA is dead to me.
