Donald Trump Jr. used a post on X to note that “even the dumbest leftists” may finally comprehend the value of the Second Amendment as they watch Hamas snatch up unarmed Israeli women and their children and take them away.

During the early evening of October 8, 2023, Donald Trump Jr. wrote:

    If anyone is still stupid enough to not understand why we have the 2nd amendment, have them watch any one of the hundreds of videos coming from Israel. Even the dumbest leftists watching women and children being dragged from their homes and cars to be raped and murdered in cold blood in the streets may finally get it.

Earlier that day, Breitbart News noted that while Israel has a strong army, individual Israelis are not well armed because the nation does not have any guarantee of a right to keep and bear arms.

The BBC reported that “Israeli gun ownership is low at about 2% of the population.” In contrast, the findings of a recent study by Rutgers University’s New Jersey Gun Violence Research Center estimated upwards of six in ten Americans own guns.

Interesting .... as I lay in bed last night trying to get sleep while thinking of the attack on Israel, oddly I did find some comfort on comments from Trump Jr.  He is right ... these people (leftists/Hamas, etc.) are sick!

2% (or less) of the population next to Gaza were allowed to own guns... You had to be over 27 to even apply for a gun (unless you recently served), and then you were limited to 50 rounds... gotta speak Hebrew, gotta be a resident for 3 years... desire to a obtain a weapon for self-defense is not considered sufficient reason... civilians can only apply for a pistol, and rifles are wholly off-limits.

Other requirements... present a health declaration signed by a physician, and complete a theoretical exam and compulsory training.

Only after an interview and thorough security check does the applicant receive his or her license, which must be renewed every two years and requires periodic refresher courses.

Who has guns, well estimated about a half million are in Arab towns. IOWs the bad guys are armed while the general populace isn't.

That is BS Israel... After the January attacks, the PM said he would loosen gun laws... it never happened. I guess the PM had a bit of Trump in him... now he says he will do it within 24 hours. I think I wouldn't dream of living in a place that limited me to a handgun with only 50 bullets. What a joke.

I don't see a problem with that,other than it is a damn-fool restriction. All I would need is a few rounds,and with those few rounds,I would soon have more ammo as well as more firearms.

The real problem with  this,other than it being a damn-fool brain fart,is that people who have not done much shooting for any reason,and who have not been in combat will never have an opportunity to become competent shooters who are capable of defending themselves under stress because they never get to practice shooting.

They might as well just buy a loaded gun from someone and shoot themselves with it.

Frankly,I am shocked that the Jewish authorities in Israel  are so freaking clueless about self-defense. You would think that if there were any local authorities familiar with defending themselves against armed attacks,it would be the Jews in the Muddle East.

From what I have seen,the Muslims damn sure don't seem to be suffering under any firearms and ammunition restrictions.

I don't think socialism is a "flirtation"  --- either among Israeli or American Jews.  I think it's an ingrained cultural rule.

Ordinarily I would agree. But not this time. What Hamas has done has changed the entire world. Europe is talking about expelling the poison of Islam from their bloodstream. America is talking about strengthening the 2nd Amendment. Israel is distributing weapons to their population.

Hamas did not realize the Global ramifications their bloodthirsty massacers would have on the world. Hamas has burned their ships on the shore. There is NO going back to the way things were before.

The incredibly STUPID Leftist kumbaya mantra from the 60s hippies, "If we disarm, they will disarm.", has been shattered forever.
