The tent shelter for migrants at Randall's Island in New York was inundated on Friday after record rainfall overwhelmed the city, with migrants and advocate groups describing inhumane conditions. Footage shared online of the tent shelters shows rain leaking into the facility, coming in from the floorboards and the temporary roofs, forcing the asylum seekers inside to cover their sleeping areas with plastic sheets as heavy rain caused flooding across the region and sparked a state of emergency.
