Anti-religious group claims Auburn University's football coach attending massive Christian revival on campus is 'unconstitutional'

An anti-religious group has attempted to stifle Christian baptisms at Auburn University in Alabama after a video went viral last week of the school's head football coach helping with the event.

As a result, the Freedom From Religion Foundation sent a letter to Auburn University President Christopher Roberts, claiming that the head football coach, Hugh Freeze, helping with the baptisms was a violation of the Constitution's Establishment Clause, per Fox News.

"These ongoing and repeated constitutional violations at the University create a coercive environment that excludes those students who don’t subscribe to the Christian views being pushed onto players by their coaches," the statement reads. ............

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is a domestic terrorist group.

Did I miss the separation of schools and religion clause?

Clearly, these people have never read the First Amendment.  There was no violation.  There is no Constitutional right to be free from religion.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

Can you imagine if they managed to decree that no public employee could attend church - or any religious activity?

Anti-religion group threatens to ‘warn’ Auburn University after 200 kids baptized on campus: ‘Absolute joke’
The Freedom From Religion Foundation says it was 'inappropriate and unconstitutional' for Auburn employees like head coach Hugh Freeze to have participated

An anti-religion group attempting to throw cold water on an Alabama university after the school’s football coach was filmed assisting with the baptism of a student has a "twisted interpretation of the First Amendment," a legal expert says.

On Friday, the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) sent a letter to Auburn University President Christopher Roberts warning that more than 200 student baptisms, one of which was assisted by Auburn Tigers head football coach Hugh Freeze, somehow violated the Constitution’s Establishment Clause.

"These ongoing and repeated constitutional violations at the University create a coercive environment that excludes those students who don’t subscribe to the Christian views being pushed onto players by their coaches," it states. ... FOX News

Ah, the FFRF—or "PETA for Atheists." Both are organizations that purport to support a cause but are so over-the-top with cheap publicity stunts that they end up making themselves a laughingstock.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
What? Were they afraid they'd step in a puddle and 'get Jesus'?

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. 1. Adult Christian Baptism is entirely voluntary, and those baptized have already professed their Christian faith.

2. FFRF presents zero evidence of coercion or pressure or ostracization by the coach.

3. Becoming a government employee of whatever position does not forbid or restrict off-the-clock religious participation, private or public.

4. This claim/threat is frivolous on its face. The FFRF's fund-raising efforts must be lagging and in need of some splashy false claim to get publicity.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

Why are we pandering to these religious bigots.
