Rupert Murdoch announces he's stepping down from Fox News

Australian-born media titan Rupert Murdoch is stepping down as chairman of the board of both Fox Corp. and News Corp. the company said on Thursday.

The move will be official in November, CNBC reports, thus bringing to an end a media journey to began in 1952 when Murdoch took over the running of The News, a small Adelaide newspaper in South Australia owned by his late father.

Murdoch, 92, will be appointed chairman emeritus of each company. Lachlan Murdoch, one of his sons, will become sole chairman of News Corp and will continue as Fox Corp.’s executive chair and CEO.

“Our companies are in robust health, as am I,” the elder Murdoch said in a note to employees and seen by CNBC.

“We have every reason to be optimistic about the coming years – I certainly am, and plan to be here to participate in them. But the battle for the freedom of speech and, ultimately, the freedom of thought, has never been more intense.”

I didn't read the article but IIRC He put his less liberal son  Lachlan in charge.  The other son james is a flaming lefty and Rup left him out of the day-to-day biness.

The left takes the mask off when Murdoch and Fox are mentioned. They don't care about fairness. They want total domination of the news.
 Many leftists are still upset that their virtual total control of the media was disrupted by Murdoch and Fox.
They wish, of course, that things will turn back to the glorious days when all the news Americans received had a definite leftist slant. 
But even before Fox and Murdoch (and conservative talk radio) conservatives weren't fooled by the propaganda they saw, read, and heard from the liberal bs artists.
So, whether Fox continues to be the default tv news org. for conservative Americans, they will still will most likely continue to sneer at lib media news.
