These deals are too hot to handle!

Back-to-school shoppers were met with a towering inferno in the children’s clothing section of a California Target on Tuesday — but luckily no one was hurt.

Shoppers were forced to evacuate the Buena Park outlet when the blaze erupted at around 7 p.m., but not before one customer caught the massive fire on camera.

Gigantic flames could be seen reaching up to the ceiling in the middle of the children’s section as the sprinkler systems went off.

It appeared the fire engulfed a standalone rack of what appeared to be clothes for toddlers.

Moments later, an employee calmly used a fire extinguisher to help quell the raging flames that looked like a scene from a horror movie.

Either accelerants are involved, or those clothes are not flame resistant, as toddler's clothes should be.

It appears to have been arson, with an accelerant. The arsonist didn't have to burn the whole store down, the sprinkler system that helped put out the fire probably also ruined quite a bit of merchandise.

It's a week after the fire, and I cannot find articles with updated information. Which is weird to me, as you can see in the picture in the OP what looks like multiple security cameras (the black dots on the ceiling). I would expect that there are multiple views/angles showing the person(s) who caused the fire. I'm going to take the media silence as a likely indication that the arsonist(s) are not the Trans-Hating MAGApublicans that media people are looking for.

That target in Buena Park is at the edge of what you would consider 'nice' trending to low to very low income along with many homeless. You are right there has been nothing about the fire for at least 5 days, it's not like there are a ton of stories out of Buena Park so this should be one of interest. It could very well be that the city is hushing things up so as not to alarm tourists.
