DeSantis is getting rid of another Soros state attorney for refusing to prosecute criminals at double the rate of any other prosecutor in the state. State Attorney Monique H. Worrell, who serves Orange and Osceola Counties, is out.
Her refusal to do her job caused two police officers to be shot and for a woman to be murdered.

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday announced the suspension of Orange-Osceola State Attorney Monique Worrell, a decision that has been looming over the prosecutor since February, when the governor condemned her office following a deadly shooting spree in Pine Hills.

At a press conference, DeSantis said Worrell and her office has been “clearly and constitutionally derelict” in her duty and said her policies justify her removal from office. Andrew A. Bain, a judge in Orange and Osceola counties, has been appointed by the governor.

DeSantis said Worrell had a pattern or practice to avoid minimum mandatory sentences for gun crimes, drug trafficking offenses and a pattern to allow juveniles to avoid serious charges or incarceration altogether. He also accused her office of limiting charges for child pornography. ...

“We just need our state attorneys’ offices and judges to help us out,” he said, throwing shade on Orange County’s Democrat State Attorney Monique H. Worrell.

After learning of the suspect being released on such a small bond, FCV found that Worrell is a George Soros-supported official.

DeSantis Suspends Soros-Backed State Attorney For ‘Neglecting’ Her Duty To Prosecute Violent Criminals

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended a Democrat state attorney backed by leftist billionaire George Soros on Wednesday for allegedly failing to prosecute violent crime in her jurisdiction.

“It is my duty as Governor to ensure that the laws enacted by our duly elected Legislature are followed,” DeSantis said. “The people of Central Florida deserve to have a State Attorney who will seek justice in accordance with the law instead of allowing violent criminals to roam the streets and find new victims.”

According to the governor’s executive order, State Attorney Monique Worrell of the 9th Judicial Circuit, a Democrat whose jurisdiction includes Orlando, is facing suspension for allegedly enabling “practices or policies that have systematically permitted violent offenders, drug traffickers, serious juvenile offenders, and pedophiles to evade incarceration when otherwise warranted under Florida law.”

DeSantis highlighted Worrell’s soft-on-crime record, specifically noting her habit of “evading minimum mandatory sentences” for gun-related crimes. According to data cited in the order, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office allegedly referred 58 “non-homicide Robbery with a Firearm” cases to the 9th Circuit for prosecution in 2021 and 2022, but only one of those cases had “resulted in the minimum mandatory sentence of ten years” as of May 2023.

Similarly, the executive order noted, the same sheriff’s office referred 11 cases of “non-homicide Carjacking with a Firearm” for prosecution but only one has generated the minimum mandatory sentence of 10 years.  ...

You'd have to review the laws of each state to determine whether or not the governor has the power in each state.  In Florida, the governor appears to have that power under the Florida state constitution.  It is likely to be the case that in other states the governor does not have such a power.
