FBI wrecked its reputation. Fixing it requires these essential things
Director Wray glossed over some of the mistakes that have damaged the FBI's reputation.

The FBI is not the revered institution it once was, but it can be again

I was an FBI special agent for more than 12 years and considered it a calling until I walked away at the end of last year. Unfortunately, the FBI changed significantly as it became politically and socially weaponized. I joined the FBI to fight crime but over time found myself being bombarded with partisan politics and social movements swirling around me which I wanted no part of.

At the same time, Americans lost trust in this important institution and morale plummeted. It pained me that I was no longer proud to say I was an FBI special agent. I realized under the current leadership that no one was going to stop the FBI from continuing on this trajectory, and I lacked faith things would improve.

As I watched FBI Director Christopher Wray’s July 12 testimony before Congress, it reconfirmed my decision to leave the career I once loved. He entirely glossed over the glaringly detrimental mistakes of some within the FBI that have damaged the reputation of the entire organization. It is tough to do your job when you are no longer supported or respected by those you are entrusted to protect and serve.

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

The "Money Paragraphs":

Quote
Many Americans have had enough. They see the two-tiered justice system. They’ve lost hope anything will ever change regardless of the information exposed by the courageous whistleblowers coming forward.

Americans want truth, transparency, accountability, solutions, reform and results. And until that occurs, they will understandably tune out anything positive the FBI is doing and distrust the entire institution.

I would add Impartiality - political, economic, ethnic, religious, etc.. Because modern FBI leaders are not, in any of these critical ways.
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.

10 days before he was assassinated, JFK declared we was going to waste the CIA to the four winds or something to that effect.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Any more, when some nefarious plot is revealed, the only question I have is "How many FBI Agents were in on it?"

To me a majority of FBI agents in the conspirators' ranks indicates likely entrapment of feeble minded people or those who lack the will to look someone in the eye and tell them to get stuffed.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I am no authority, but I seriously  doubt that is is even possible to save the Feebs at this point. They have gone too far.

Of course, the main concern about this is that there WILL be another agency created to replace the Feebs, and they will have the same stated public goals.

Unfortunately,I see no way any such agency can "start up" without enlisting former Feebs  as both agents and administrators. After all,who else is properly trained and supposedly qualified?

Wish I had  an answer the "recruiting new agents and leaders" problems, but I don't.

The bureau made famous by J. Edgar Hoover had a reputation to wreck?

From your cousin from Boston ...

... if the FBI is still "searching" for Whitey, he can be found in Hell, along with his corrupt FBI co-conspirators.

If you had the right Director, and a President and AG willing to back him, it could be fixed.

So yeah, I don't think there's a way to save it either.
