A woman has reportedly been denied cancer treatment at a Portland area hospital after she criticized the facility’s public presentation of a “transgender flag.”

The woman in question, identified only as Marlene to protect her, sent a message to Libs of TikTok, a popular social media account that documents transgender insanity. The message was originally sent to someone at Oregon Health and Science University after what appears to be numerous prior communications with staff there.

Does Marlene seem a little forward and hostile in her complaint? Perhaps, but I’d also suggest that someone suffering from cancer should be given leeway in such a situation. She clearly didn’t like the transgender flag being pushed on her and felt like it was insulting in light of her being targeted by transgender activists in the past (a common theme in today’s political environment). I don’t find that out of bounds at all, and if this was just one of many messages, her frustration is understandable.

Given Portland’s progressive pedigree, you’d think the hospital staff would have sympathy for Marlene, but being a woman falls well below being transgender on the intersectional hierarchy of the left. That means that transgender ideology takes precedence over any notion of actual women existing as a distinct demographic.

I'm with Marlene, why? What practical/useful purpose other than indoctrination does it serve?

Once again, ANY criticism or pushback is labeled "hurtful" or "hateful", pure hyperbole.

I'm thinking that clinic is about to get a wake up call based on this.

You know, I would be rather uncomfortable having a homosexual healthcare worker, and especially so with a trans one. I'd have to question his or her mental stability.

In the health care system, doctors can “fire” an uncooperative patient for things such as a lengthy pattern of non-compliance with their treatments or because they repeatedly fail to pay their bills. It has to be a longstanding situation and it has to be willful. Patients cannot be fired simply because they happen to be forgetful or sloppy about their finances. According to an article in Reduxx, Barbera noticed a trans pride flag in the reception room of the clinic. She is what is known as “gender critical.” This means she rejects the notions of gender identity. She contacted her doctor via the medical app MyChart, stating:

I have been threatened on Twitter by trans activists with rape and death — so it is daunting to go for medical treatment with that banner proclaiming that what I am, an adult human female, is a mere opt-in category for any gender non-conforming male and not a reality. May I please have a telephone appointment to discuss how I may access your medical care without walking under a banner that seeks to negate all I am?

Not long after, Barbera received a MyChart message from Oregon Health Science University Practice Manager Stein Berger. She was informed that Richmond is an “all-inclusive clinic and we value and advocate for diversity.” She was also told that her “transphobic” remarks were “harmful” to the staff. Later that day, she got an email from the clinic stating in part:

Effective immediately, you are discharged from receiving medical care at the Richmond Family Medicine Clinic. This action is being taken because of ongoing disrespectful and hurtful remarks about our LGBTQ community and staff … Please note that you are also now dismissed from all OHSU Family Medicine clinics, including Immediate Care clinics.

In a sane state, that doctor, clinic staff, and the Health Science University would be forced to do a whole lot of 'splainin'. But this happened in Oregon.
