A mayor in northern Italy has criticised the practice of "Muslim foreigners" bathing fully clothed on beaches as "unacceptable", claiming it creates "intolerable consequences" for preserving decorum.
 
Anna Maria Cisint, the mayor of Monfalcone in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, wrote an open letter to the local Muslim community, Italian media reports.
 
In the letter published on Wednesday, Cisint said that "those who come from different situations than ours are obliged to respect the rules and customs that apply in the Italian and local context."
 
Cisint, of the right-wing Lega party, claims that bathers entering the water fully dressed causes "bewilderment" on the popular tourist beach of Marina Julia in the Gorizia area.
 
The practice of bathing "in clothing other than swimsuits must cease", Cisint warned, adding that "forms of 'Islamisation' of our territory cannot be accepted". ...

Clearly, she doesn't mean "bathing" in the sense of washing oneself, but cavorting on the beach and in the water - usually done while wearing swimsuits.

I don't see the issue either, it's not the worst feature of the moslem religion, provided that the woman is making a free choice and not because she will be beaten or much worse if she doesn't. Spend more effort on the destructive things the moslem males are doing. I think this is just playing to the voters that elected her because of all the 'migrants' that flooded in.

It's more cultural modesty than religious dogma.

I wonder if the mayor also has issues with people like skin cancer patients who choose to wear long sleeve swim shirts and such to protect themselves from the UV rays.

If the muslims ever gain the majority in that town, the very first thing they'll do is "force" their muslim habits on the kafir female bathers. EVERY female will bathe fully clothed.
