Tipping Point – 1.5 Degrees Celsius Warming

Pro: 1.5 Degrees Warming Is Dangerous
From The Climate Reality Project:

GLOBAL WARMING IS ABOUT AVERAGE TEMPERATURES

When we talk about 1.5 degrees of warming, we’re talking about the increase in the Earth’s average temperature. We measure this increase from a baseline average temperature in the mid-to-late nineteenth century – when the Industrial Revolution swung into high gear and people began burning fossil fuels on an unprecedented level, jumpstarting climate change.

The important thing to understand is that global warming that comes from burning fossil fuels is not a uniform process. Due to a host of natural factors, some areas – like the poles – are warming much faster than others. So when we talk about preventing 1.5 degrees of global warming, we’re talking about preventing a 1.5 degree increase in the Earth’s average temperature. Some places have already crossed that line.

And it’s already happening

That’s because the climate crisis is already here. Today. Higher temperatures are already dragging out droughts and wiping out crops. Himalayan glaciers that provide water to some 240 million people are already melting. Storms like Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Marie are already getting stronger and more devastating thanks to climate change. The list goes on.

And that's just for the last 10,000 years, and based predominantly on proxy data (i.e., tree rings and ice cores).  On a proper geologic scale, we're still in an ice age.

This image, in particular, demonstrates just how incredibly stupid the climate nazis' claims are:

The global temperature was higher than it is currently for almost two thousand years, from 6,000 BCE to about 4,000 BCE, and yet, at the same time, humans were building the basic foundations of human civilization, including the development of farming, of complex communities, writing (cuneiform) and the like.

In other words, during periods of higher temperatures, human society flourishes like the proverbial weeds.  Source:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_prehistory#Holocene

And yet, if the climate-fascists are to be believed, an itsy-bitsy additional increase - still well below the temps 8,000 years ago - will kill off most of humanity.

What a crock of shit.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.

It isn't the temperature increase that will kill off most of humanity, it is the insane reaction to it and the attempts to stop something that is not a problem that will. Stupidity like seeding the atmosphere with aerosols that will cut down on the energy reaching the surface of the Earth while hobbling energy sources, even though the effects of the former could bring on the Ice Age the same climate whackos were howling about in the late 1970s.

Yep, that would do it.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

This looks like something that Senator Crazy Mazie Hirono would write - if she were smart enough.

Evel Knievel couldn't jump those leaps of logic.
