Sun activity for July 12, 2023: Newcomer AR3372 brings an array of M flares!
Today’s top news: While we were discussing either AR3358 or AR3366 was the culprit of yesterday’s M flares, a newcomer on the northeast limb made an outstanig entrance with a Hello-I-am-here salute blasting an array of seven M flares in the past day. Active regions AR3366 and AR3361 responded back to the salute with correspondent M flares. See detail and breakdown below. We observed a number of filament exploding activity coronal mass ejection (CMEs) producers. At the moment so far, none of the events have found its way directo to us at Earth. A full halo event was registered by LASCO C2 and C3 at around 16:48 UTC on July 11, 2023 but no flaring activity associated with this event on the Earth-side of the sun indicates the explosion occurred on the far side.
Last 24 hours: Sun activity is at high level. There was a pick up in the solar activity. As mentioned above, newcomer AR3372 on the northeast limb (edge) made it to reach high levels with the production of a number of M and C flares during the past day. Between 11 UTC yesterday and 11 UTC today there were a ten M flares and ten Cs for a total production of 20 flares during the period. The largest was an M6.8 blasted at 18:08 UTC by AR3372 on July 11, 2023. This is the breakdown of the M flares:

10.M7.0 flare at 08:55 UTC by AR3372 on July 12, 2023, the largest.
After each M flare a radio blackout was registered all along the sun lit side of our planet but the largest Ms provoked R2 (moderate) radio blackouts over these areas:
