Mayor Eric Adams admits NYC ‘always’ had tax-funded private guards at overburdened migrant sites

Mayor Eric Adams conceded Monday that the city has “always” used tax-funded private security guards at overburdened Big Apple migrant centers.

The revelation comes one day after The Post revealed that New York City Health + Hospitals issued a request for proposals to hire a private security company to patrol the packed migrant sites — a gig the rep for city peace officers called “volatile” and “dangerous.”

“We’ve always had security at the shelters, always,” Adams said Monday. “You can’t put thousands of people in a shelter. It would be irresponsible not to have security.

“We’re just making sure we have the people,” he said. “Always making sure we have the security that we need.”

City Hall would not immediately identify the firm it has used nor the cost of the contracts — but a spokesman said the price is figured into the $4.3 billion budgeted over two years.

A group of “disorderly” migrants hurled objects at passersby in Manhattan before beating up two men who tried to intervene — pushing one of them through a glass door of an apartment building entrance on Sunday morning, according to police and witnesses.

The violence began just before 9:45 a.m. in Harlem, when cops received word that pedestrians were being attacked by several individuals who were throwing objects at them, the NYPD said.

Law enforcement sources and witnesses said the suspects were migrants staying at a former jail that has been converted into a shelter for asylum seekers on Central Park North, near where the incident took place. ...

But Adams was fine with Texas small and medium towns being forced by Feds' non-enforcement of immigration law to do just that. Goose sauce meet gander.
