US Navy stops Iran from seizing two oil tankers in Gulf of Oman

The U.S. Navy on Wednesday said it stopped Iran from seizing two commercial tankers in the Gulf of Oman following a series of attacks and seizures on vessels in the region since 2019.

The first seizure attempt occurred around 1 a.m. local time on a Marshall Islands-flagged oil tanker TRF Moss but ended after U.S. Navy guided-missile destroyer USS McFaul arrived on the scene, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (NAVCENT) said in a statement.

The U.S. Navy also deployed "surveillance assets" like the MQ-9 Reaper drone and a P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.

Shouldn't the PRC of China, Japan, India, Japan, and E.U. be protecting Freedom of Navigation in the Persian Gulf?  They're the ones that need the Middleast oil, not America.

The less America spends protecting Saudi Arabia's, the UAE's, and Iran's oil exports, the more we can send to defend Taiwain from the Chi-coms.

In the same light, the less money we send to Ukraine, the more $$ we can send to defend Taiwain.

Big deal.  The fact that the Iranians backed off these two attempts because we happened to have a ship in close proximity doesn't solve the problem.  They'll just do it againwhenwe don't.

The problem doesn't actually get solved until we fire upon, and do damage to, an Iranian ship that is engaging in piracy.

America doesn't need Saudi, UAE, nor Iranian oil any more.

The Persian Gulf is outside SEATO and NATO and other American alliance theaters of operation.

The only reason the US got involved with the Mideast was to backfill the Biritish Empire's withdrawal during the Cold War.
