Democrats are living in a fairy tale over the Equal Rights Amendment and would do well to take a note from Disney’s “Frozen” and “Let It Go.”

The ERA expired in 1982, yet Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says the Senate will vote on the amendment this week.

“In this ominous hour of American history, the Equal Rights Amendment has never been as necessary and urgent as it is today,” Schumer said in a statement Monday.

Schumer says the Senate will vote to advance the amendment Thursday.

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

Are you effing kidding me?  In the era where democrats like Schumer are trying to erase women from society and sports by claiming that cross-dressing men are actually women?

The amendment is already federal law I believe, so I'm not sure what the point is. To further divide us I guess.

The original ERA amendment - the federal law - had an expiration date, and not enough states had ratified the ERA amendment to the Constitution by the original expiration date.  Subsequently, two more states voted to ratify the ERA amendment; however, as of now, their votes are meaningless because the original federal law expired.

Now the democrats want to amend the original federal law to remove the expiration date, and then pretend that the ERA amendment was ratified by a sufficient number of states.

What I meant was that the language in the ERA already exists in federal law. You cannot discriminate by sex even without this amendment not being ratified, so what is the purpose of the amendment?

The goal is to mandate communist/socialist idiocies like mandatory equal pay.  The theory is that the 14th Amendment is not sufficient to guarantee equal rights.
