I don't think Jeffries will get 8 GOP votes. Best thing to do, is for McCarthy to defer to Scalise or even better Jordon.

Report: Boebert, Gaetz, Perry Told McCarthy They Don’t Mind if Democrat Hakeem Jeffries Wins Speakership

Three House Freedom Caucus members reportedly told GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) in a private meeting on Monday that they don’t mind if incoming House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) wins the speakership.

Scalise, hell no!  Jordan?  Works for me.  Better yet, Alan West.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

Why Scalise?  He was a near useless Whip.

Jordan doesn't want it ..... he's chomping at the bit to take over the Judiciary.

I am not the biggest fan of McCarthy either, but let’s stop pissing around. If a Republican is going to be the speaker, it’s going to be him. All of this showboating might look good for certain individuals, but it’s hurting us in the big picture.

Yeah, I prefer Jordon, but Scalise might have to be a consensus pick.  He at least has stronger conservative stripes and background than McCarthy.

West?  He lost me when he tried has his little carpet bagging Governor stunt in TX last year.

Just heard, they could lower the bar for the next round of votes, and the person with the most votes is House Speaker. More than likely ensuring Kevin McCarthy speaker. That's an option

As far as I am concerned the best outcome is for the House to spend the next 730 days taking Speaker roll call votes, and not spend our tax dollars.

Right now, with voting for Speaker still ongoing, no candidate will have a majority, and @RepJeffries
could have a plurality (tho not enough to win). 2nd ballot likely. Republicans look like idiots; Democrats, unified in opposition. Possibility of a Democrat being elected Speaker

Lmao. So funny!

Kevin McCarthy is slouched over in his chair because he doesn’t have the votes to be Speaker.

He looks like a slob, because he is a slob. Slouched over with humiliation.

We will celebrate when he loses.

Everyone was worried about being just short.  Hell, he is looking at close to 10% defection.  So much for a few vocal angry renegades derailing this RINO's effort.

A small group of so-called Republicans has decided that the electorate that voted for Republicans to control the House must be disenfranchised so that they can have a hissy fit for the amusement of Democrats and the mainstream media who will applaud @RepJeffries

The occasional yahoo giving their "from the great state" schitk gets annoying

Wonder if they will still be doing it after the 10th ballot?
