Earth faces a mass extinction by 2100 that could wipe out more than a quarter of world biodiversity, a new study warns.

Australian and European scientists have developed a 'virtual Earth' to better plot global extinctions caused by climate change.

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

I think any mass extinction will be the result of leftists becoming so incompetent they will forget how to procreate. :xedfingers:

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

GIGO applies no matter how much computing power is being used to make and run the model.
And when they behead your own people in the wars which are to come, then you will know what this was all about.

Anything is possible. The Earth has seen many mass extinctions.

But the tactic here is to make something sound so dire but to put it off in the future so that people today don’t see it and they can use that as an excuse to implement draconian policies

After all, it’s all for the children
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion
Holy Smokes! I hadn't realized we transitioned from SMOD mass extinction to 'land use, climate change and 'over-exploitation of resources' mass extinction time already! I sure am glad someone is keeping track in fear mongering central.
