EL PASO, Texas (KFOX) — A migrant caravan that arrived in Texas on Sunday continues to grow.

Thousands of migrants are on the bank of the Rio Grande along the U.S.-Mexico border in El Paso waiting in line to turn themselves in to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers to seek asylum.
The county and city of El Paso are discussing sheltering support for arriving migrants.
El Paso City Council discussed whether it will declare a state of emergency at its meeting. State law dictates only the mayor and county judge can declare an emergency.

Deputy City Manager, Mario D’Agostino, told city council members Monday there is no guarantee that El Paso will be reimbursed for costs spent on the migration crisis. He strongly encouraged city leaders to declare a state of emergency with the number of migrants arriving.
