I'm alright at it @corbe . I usually die way late in the elimination rounds...  never won a tourney, never placed... Just under top-tier somewhere... Or was, rather. My balance is so wonky now, I'd prolly have to learn it all over again.

A couple of our parks have horseshoe pits and there is always a couple of people playing, mostly retiree age.  I've sat and watched a couple of times during my walks; I find it entertaining.

I have to be drunk to bowl...  Right in the 3 beer to 7 beer window, I amaze. The rest of the time I suck. immediately and entirely.

If you read a relatively modern book on mathematics you find stuff like this.

Thinking is out and memorization is in.

Years back I tutored a friend in basic 9th grade math. All the discussions had 27 steps
in their solutions. That is because the hired teachers can't actually do math. They did
not major in math.

Best would be to pick up a pre 1950s math book for the young ones in your extended
family or those young ones in your neighborhood. Give them a chance of understanding.

Hahahaha! What a difference a pond makes.

While on a ski trip in the 70s, I met a bunch of young guys who had traveled from Australia to ski in Aspen. Somewhere in our conversation, the word (name, maybe) "Fanny" was used. That's when I learned that it was not acceptable to say that word in polite society (is there any such thing anymore?) in Australia. I didn't ask them to be specific, but they were certainly amused that they could say it without impunity here in the States.

He won't serve a year if a Dim is elected President of the US in the upcoming Presidential election. He will pay  a public fine as well as a "Private fine to an offshore account",and receive a Presidential Pardon.

Not that most of us will know this happened because the major media/press will refuse to report it.
