I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Now there's a picture that says a thousand words.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

-Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."

Post pictures of your counter argument in the comments

It is a good idea if you are into drugs, and do not ever want a job.
If you want to be rejected by society, a face or a neck tattoo will make it happen.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

So new calendar?
All true ... And:
Sept, should be the seventh month
Oct, should be the eighth month
Nov, should be the ninth month
Dec, should be the tenth month

Those monks were drunk as hell on wine when they conjured up the Gregorian Calendar.
It is a loony attempt at reconciling the .25 day at the end of each year. There were much better ways of doing this.
January = Janus - Roman God
February = from Latin name for rite of purification
March = Mars - Roman God of war
April = (uncertain) may be related to the Roman name for the Greek God Aphrodite (spring love, etc.)
May = Maia - Greek Goddess of fertility
June = Juno - Roman Goddess of marriage
July = Julius Caesar
August = Julius Caesar Augustus - originally Sextilis latin for six in the 10 month Roman calendar
September = Seven in the original Roman calendar
October = Eight in the original Roman calendar
November = Nine
December = decem - ten

The Gregorian Calendar became a political football in the 1500s with the Pope and religion wanting their influence combined with government officials wanting their own particular political stamp on it. Ergo, we wound up with the mess we have today.

You still need an extra day each year, call it New Year's or Year's End, that won't be a M-Tu-W-Th-F-Sa-Su.  It will just be an extra odd day.  Every four years, you will have to add another extra day in kind (Leap Day).  Except there will be three times every 400 years where you won't do this.

So, add one day each year and another 97 days every 400 years.  Do that, and it will work.  Outside of that, you could ditch that whole cesium clock and add 0.310625% to the length of a second and you could have your 364 day calendar.  Of course that would screw up the day-time portion.  Eventually, midnight would occur during the day.  But at least the calendar would be right.

The Gregorians may not have been good at naming months, but they got the time fix right.  The problems is that the rotation of the earth is not in sync with the revolution of the earth around the sun.

@Hoodat

I understand. However it is still difficult for me to grasp how they let 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, become 8, 9, 10, 11, 12?
Good Grief, this is Latin and Greek. They were speaking reading and writing Latin at the time.
How could they possibly not see that something was slightly askew? My OCD is driving my crazy!

Yeah, I get it.  With three years of Latin, I still take the prefix and add 2.  Guess they wanted to keep December as the last month.  Either that, or they wanted to make it consistent with the oyster harvest.

Oyster harvest? Hmmm ...
My understanding was that oysters had not made it into the mainstream back then. Based partially and indirectly on Judaic tradition, most of the world considered oysters, lobsters, and shrimp to be the trash cleaners of the sea (which they actually are). They fed these 'bottom feeders' to slaves and prisoners. But I am not sure. Maybe they harvested them for a different reason, animal food or fertilizer. I will have to look into this someday.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.
