I just used it to figure out the maps.  I then dropped the cheat codes so I played unhindered eventually.

I used the cheat codes in DOOM and it ruined the game.
After using the cheats I could not go back to normal play.

Yeah... Doom was the last game I played... After the WINkey got added to the KB, DOS games became unworkable... Probably fortunate for me, as gaming lost its allure, and so my obsession moved to hacking instead... which began my foray into a legit and somewhat profitable tech service...

Had that not happened, I would likely still be on the couch with Cheetos stained fingers instead of sitting here at Command Central with Cheetos stained fingers...

The purpose of entertainment is to ENTERTAIN,NOT indoctrinate.

Seems like such a simple and obvious  truth that  nobody should have to point that out,doesn't it?

ESPECIALLY not to a decades old movie and tv show entertainment giant,like Disney WAS.

Ya just gotta wonder how the stockholders are dealing with this. Yeah,THIS generation of stock holders with inherited wealth and position might think it is just peachy-keen,but they are obviously a minority of the American population.

At this point I honestly don't think Disney can be saved unless the sane stockholders manage to  force the Disney heirs to sell their shares,and then start running HUGE promotions in magazines and on tv to inform the public about the "New Disney with NEW leadership that is going to  take the  corporation back to it's entertainment roots and stay out of politics.

Assuming of course that it isn't already too late to save Disney.

Disney is in some serious trouble.

The 'message flick' has been around for a long time. It got nauseatingly common in the late '60s and '70s, and just hasn't gone away, although some are more subtle.
We used them in war to help enlistment, keep the evil commies at bay, to duck and cover and sell The Bomb.
We used them to steer our children away from a life of capital crime.
We knew who the 'good guys' were, and they usually won.

But then the TV laugh tracks started getting flipped on for things that were only on the edge of funny, or weren't actually funny at all, and the whole national sense of humor changed.


It became 'socially approved' and less beneficial...

and started taking traditional stories, and twisting them away from the social fabric we'd grown up  with...not just playing for sympathy (A friend who was wounded in WWII said of Tora! Tora! Tora! that "It almost made you feel sorry for the Japs."
), but actively telling you to discard social traditions and mores not just by eliciting sympathy away from them, but by recruiting believers in alternate thought based on a storyteller's bias.
 
No movie ever followed the book exactly, and our fairy tales were smoothed over into feelgood stories, that were simply not the original.  Happily ever after became the new thing, no matter what had transpired. The 'good guy' somehow never failed, the cavalry came on time, the bomb was disarmed with one second to go...

In doing so, much of the parable nature of those tales, the warnings wrapped in story that were passed to future generations were lost.

And then the message they were spewing no longer reflected those traditional mores.

It is long past time for someone prominent to stand up  in public and highlight the hypocrisy AND insanity of those brain farts made into laws.

Whoever suggested such a thing and every politician that voted for them should be removed from office on the grounds of  being mentally  incompetent.

Check any clearance section, at Walmart, Target, or any other brick and mortar store.  They've got Disney junk on the shelves for pennies on the dollar.
