NATO is NATO. Ukraine is not NATO. How is that difficult to understand?
And I am not such a fan of NATO either, for that matter. Nato is largely America and England paying the defense bill for Europe... Without many thanks.

Leave Europe to its own defenses, and I will bet their forays into Marxism and liberalism end immediately. Their entertaining of socialism is directly proportional to their excess funds due to the US and England picking up their defense tab... So meh. BUT there is a treaty in place with NATO... and until that is dissolved, that obligation remains.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

Nonsense.  An administrative agreement is just as much about the U.S. putting its honor on the line.  I am, quite frankly, rather shocked at how cheap American honor turns out to be around this place.

No, it is not. According to the Constitution, to which I will adhere, lest we have to enforce the ridiculous Paris Accords too... Thanks,  but no thanks. That is why foreign policy is driven by treaty (Congress), and not State. On purpose.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

Which thankfully, does not occur often.

We (America) need to get back to a place where we can agree to disagree respectfully.

This is the whole point of the fascistic January 6 circus.

Bullshit.  Honor is not about legal bindingness; it's about standing by your word.  Funny how someone who is so keen to preen on being a conservative, is so willing to throw American honor in the trash when it suits his ulterior political motives.  How very like a liberal ....

HAHAHAHA! Then I guess honor also demands we comply with the Paris Accords - After all, the State Dept. and the president laid word on that...

Ulterior political motives? Here they are:

NEOCONS and Democrats are for it, well I will likely be against it. On principle.

I am opposed to foreign entanglements.
I am opposed to NEOCON police actions and nation building.

I am opposed to anything bargaining with foreign powers that is not explicitly governed by treaty - Fine
for glad handing, but where the rubber hits the road, treaty is how it is done.

And I am super-opposed to messin with neighbors that have literally been feuding for centuries.

And all of this bullshit leads to boots on the ground, And I mean to defend the oath our soldiers have laid... And will never be for putting them in harm's way without direct and necessary purpose.

Y'all are messin with WWIII over something that is none of our business.
And doing for Europe what Europe should do for itself.

That's my ulterior motives - And they are neck deep in Conservatism.

And if you don't like it, then you'll have to honor the Paris Accords for the very same reason, or explain the inconsistency. And throw in the WHO agreements currently being concocted to remove our liberty.

While I agree with your points, I think we should help provide Ukraine with arms.

I do not trust the motives of the folks doing so, partly because they are corrupt, and partly because I think they are trying to get us tangled up in a bigger conflict for ulterior motives. The entire posture of weakness they've placed us in provokes such things, and typical of the Munchausen's by Proxy of the Feds of late, they'd create problems so they could 'solve them and be the heroic figures.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

What I described is not isolationist... Except to NEOCONS bent on spending our fortune to police the world.

It ain't our business.
