Yes, it was Hitler that started Volkswagen. And almost no one knows it was Henry Ford that funded the Nazi Party with $500,000 in their infancy. It could be said the Nazis would not have gotten anywhere without Ford's financing.
Hitler had a portrait in his office of Henry Ford. Ford was the ONLY foreign company that was not taken over by Germans to manage, in terms of plants in Germany, France and the rest of conquered Europe.
