Republican Young Kim Wins in California

Republican Young Kim has defeated Democrat Asif Mahmood in her bid for California’s 40th U.S Congressional District, successfully defending her seat after winning in 2020.

In Kalifornia, no less.

How do those numbers compare to 2020?  You may find that they are the same.

McEnany: Have ‘to Make Strategic Calculations’ on Trump Visiting Georgia, DeSantis ‘Should Be Welcomed’ There

On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Outnumbered,” co-host and former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany stated that no Republican should announce their 2024 presidential candidacy until Georgia’s Senate runoff is completed and responded to the prospect of former President Donald Trump going to Georgia by stating that “we’ve got to make strategic calculations. Gov. DeSantis, I think he should be welcomed to the state, given what happened last night.”

McEnany stated that because there is a real chance that control of the U.S. Senate comes down to the December runoff election in Georgia. She added, “And let me just say this, every ounce of Republican energy, every last ounce, needs to go into that Georgia race because it could, potentially, be what makes or breaks the Senate, getting Herschel Walker over the finish line.”

McEnany is right.  For the next 30 days, Trump needs to keep his mouth shut and stay away from Georgia.

Arizona Dems widen leads with Maricopa vote dump
Daniel Chaitin

Democrats in two key Arizona races widened their leads following the release of a fresh batch of votes, though the contests remain close.

Katie Hobbs, Arizona's secretary of state who is running as the Democratic nominee for governor, saw her lead be extended from about 8,100 votes to 13,000 following a drop of 62,000 ballots from Maricopa County.

https://twitter.com/BiancaBuono/status/1590529526303723521

The lead for Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) over Republican Blake Masters grew from roughly 88,000 votes to 95,000.

https://twitter.com/JimSmall/status/1590525137098399745

There are still hundreds of thousands of votes yet to be counted, and it could be at least one more day before either race is called.

We only saw a few thousand counted yesterday.  At this rate we'll know in about 4 years.

Pro-Impeachment Lisa Murkowski, Kelly Tshibaka Advance to Final Round of Alaska’s Ranked-Choice Voting

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Republican challenger Kelly Tshibaka advanced on Wednesday to the final found of ranked-choice tabulation after neither candidate reached the 50 percent threshold in the first round.

With 80 percent of the votes counted, Tshibaka leads the race with 44.3 percent. Murkowski is close behind at 42.8 percent, while Democrat candidate Pat Chesbro holds 9.5 percent.

The vote counting will now move into a late stage of tabulation, where the third choices of down-ballot votes are distributed across the remaining candidates to see if either one of them will reach the 50 percent threshold.

The final vote tabulation could take up to 15 days after Election Day.

Alaska’s elections use a ranked choice voting system effectively affords Democrat voters the opportunity to vote for Murkowski on the second and third ballots. Alaska’s ranked-choice general election and open primary system works like this:

All candidates from all parties appear on the ballot together in the August primary. The top four vote-getters regardless of party then advance to the general election, and their voters are given the opportunity to pick their top choice, as well as their second and third choices. If no candidate in the first round of voters’ first choices gets 50 percent of the vote, the last place candidate’s second choices are distributed across the remaining three candidates to see if someone can get across the majority threshold. If that fails again to produce a majority vote-getter, then a third round is conducted where the third place candidate’s votes are redistributed according to second choices between the remaining two candidates.

There is also another potential pickup in the new CO-08.  The republican has closed the gap to 134 with 89% in.  However, the republican has conceded (??)

Good news also, we've had a few projected flips based on lead changes.

If you take current leaders of uncalled races in the House we are now at 222 vs. 220 yesterday at this time.
