Georgia county mailing over 1,000 absentee ballots three days before midterm elections

Supervisor reportedly did not "verify that all ballots were created."

A major Georgia county is scrambling to dispatch hundreds and hundreds of absentee ballots just three days before the 2022 midterm elections, the result of what one official said was clerical error in the county elections office.

Cobb County, Ga., mailed out "over 1,000 absentee ballots" on Saturday morning, CNN reports, due to a staffer's forgetting to add ballot requests to a mailing machine.

The news network said Cobb County spokesman Ross Cavitt told Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration members that the county's absentee supervisor "failed to upload the daily file of accepted ballots into the mailing machine or to have staff manually stuff the envelopes."

“It appears that she did not employ any process to check outgoing ballots against the daily accepted reports to verify that all ballots were created," Cavitt told the board.

Cobb County Elections and Registrations Director Janine Eveler said in the letter that she was "so sorry that this office let these voters down," according to CNN.

The prior absentee supervisor "left some procedures, but it appears the new supervisor did not reference them or keep them updated when new methods, such as the mailing machine, were established," Eveler wrote in the letter.

The county mailed them three days before the election with a weekend in between???

They should have been forced to hand deliver each one due to their incompetence.

The news network said Cobb County spokesman Ross Cavitt told Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration members that the county's absentee supervisor "failed to upload the daily file of accepted ballots into the mailing machine or to have staff manually stuff the envelopes."

So which is it?  Was the daily file not updated?  Or did staff not complete the envelopes?

btw, all absentee ballot requests must have been received by Friday Oct 28.  So I am not believing that these ballot requests sat in Cobb County election office for eight days before someone (on a Saturday) took action.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.
