Still waiting for those examples where Democrat politicians were shot on a baseball field, had their ribs broken while cutting their grass, or had someone put a knife to their throats while on the campaign trail.
@Hoodat This is not directly related to the above story, but it is related,in the sense it displays the bias in big-city newspapers.
I was doing armed bodyguard work when I first moved to Denver in the early 70's,and one place where the legacy millionaires in Denver gathered was at the Denver Athletic Club. VEWWY,VEWWY private club dating back to the 1800's.
Anyhow, the legacy owner to the Denver Post,Denver's oldest newspaper, got drunk in the DAC club one sattidy nite, and pulled a concealed handgun on a couple of other members. Can't remember at the moment of any "warning shots" were fired or not,but the police were DEFINITELY involved. Keep in mind that just being a mere millionaire is not good enough to qualify you for a membership card.
The sweet, sweet irony involved in this was people were trying to get more CCW permits approved by the DPD at the time, and the DPD AND the Denver Post newspaper were both rabidly anti-gun. The Denver Post was running editorials about the danger of CCW permits at the time.
So,the RABIDLY ANTI-GUN legacy owner (his grandfather or great-grandfather stated the Denver Post) gets drunk in that private club, and pulls a concealed weapon on a couple of other members, yet, oddly enough, there was not a single WHISPER about this reported in the Denver Post.
Rest assured that the Rocky Mountain Post did a bang-up!(pun intended) job of reporting it,though.
Come to find out,the Denver Post publisher was in possession of a uber-rare CHG Permit issued by the Denver Police Department! HOODA THUNK IT?
And,"No,there was no report of it being pulled, and the court proceedings were sealed.
No word if him DAC membership was pulled or not,but it seems unlikely.
I do know that shortly after that incident the security company I worked for was contacted by the Denver Post publishers requesting armed bodyguards to escort the publisher around town. I,of course, refused to take the job. No negative consequences from the security company, either. They just had someone else babysit that turd.
BTW,the publisher or his son are still at the anti-gun crusade, too. There was an article supporting left-wing moon-batism by the editor published today.
