White House compares DeSantis and Abbott actions to human smuggling
by Brett Samuels - 09/16/22 2:05 PM ET

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Friday compared the actions of two Republican governors who sent migrants to Democrat-run cities to that of smugglers, the latest jab in an increasingly fraught back-and-forth over the issue of migration and the southern border.

Jean-Pierre took aim at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) after they put migrants on buses and planes and sent them to Washington, D.C., Massachusetts and Chicago. She accused the governors of luring more than 100 asylum-seekers, including children, under false promises that they would receive shelter and benefits.

“These were children, they were moms, they were fleeing communism,” Jean-Pierre said. “And what did Gov. DeSantis and Gov. Abbott do to them? They used them as political pawns, treated them like cattle in a cruel, premeditated political stunt.”

She argued it was a clear stunt because DeSantis, whose state does not border Mexico, arranged to fly the migrants to Massachusetts and did not alert authorities there of their impending arrival.

“These vulnerable migrants were reportedly misled about where they were headed … misled about what they would be provided when they arrived, promised shelter, refuge, benefits and more,” Jean-Pierre said. “These are the kinds of tactics we see from smugglers in places like Mexico and Guatemala. And for what? A photo op. Because these governors care more about creating political theater than creating actual solutions to help folks who are fleeing communism.”

DeSantis flew two planes of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts on Wednesday. Abbott has repeatedly made similar moves, including sending two buses of migrants to Vice President Harris’s residence in Washington that arrived on Thursday.

Republicans have argued the Biden administration has mismanaged the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border, leading to a major influx of migrants flowing into the country. In sending some migrants to blue states, GOP governors have argued those areas should take on some of the responsibility of caring for them.

White House officials have insisted that they inherited a broken immigration system that is still being rebuilt after the pandemic. Democrats have widely condemned the governors’ actions as pure politics and potentially harmful to the individuals being sent across the country.

So when the DCP does it it's ok but when GOP does it it's human trafficking.

Speaking of human smuggling, can the White House explain how those migrants got from Texas to Florida?

A reminder:

Biden sent 70 secret night flights of migrants from border to Florida

More than 70 flights transporting migrants from the southern border to Jacksonville have landed in the dark of night in recent months as the Biden administration struggles to empty overflowing border facilities, the office of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said.

It is the first time the state of Florida has disclosed the number of confirmed flights arriving in the state since the summer. The governor's office has scrambled in recent weeks to uncover who is facilitating the mystery flights landing in northern Florida daily, but the Biden administration has refused to disclose any information, one official said.

“Over 70 air charter flights [on] jetliner airliners coming from the southwest border have landed at Jacksonville International Airport,” said Larry Keefe, DeSantis’s public safety czar. “On average, there's 36 passengers on each of these flights. And that has been going on over the course of the summer through September.”

Keefe, who was the Trump-appointed U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Florida until early 2021, said the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Health and Human Services will not tell the state of Florida who is overseeing the flights, the names of those on the flights, or where the migrants are being taken. None of the agencies or the White House responded to a request for comment.  .  .

I would venture to say that most DEM voters don't have a clue that this has even happened.

Biden and Obama locked them in cages, too. Hmm, a few days on Martha's Vineyard vs. being locked in a dog run. That's a tough choice.

I think it's a safe bet that even if most dem voters knew they wouldn't care, until like now they started showing up on their door steps and then by God it's not the illegals that are a problem it's those damn republican racist fascists trying to destroy the socialists 'democracy'.

Agree, unless they can get the DEMS to complete the wall and implement the immigration rules already in place, this action of DeSantis and Abbott dropping them off in DEM areas may back fire; it will be seen as racist and ILLEGAL immigration will now be the fault of the GOP governors for dispersing them all over the country. Then there's the whole voting issue -- these ILLEGALS will soon become DEM voters.  It's just a matter of time.

Harris isn't going to do anything, nor is Joe, Schumer, Pelosi and anyone involved in allowing ILLEGALS into the country. It's to their benefit to keep the influx going.

If the Federal Government refuses to fulfill its responsibility to secure the nation's borders, state governments will have to act to protect their citizens.

The dingbats won't even admit there is an issue.  The Biden Admin wants open borders, and will do nothing to secure the border.

DC has had 35 years since the Immigration Reform Act of 1986/1987 to secure the Southern Border, and they have chosen not to do it.

The Border States, and overwhelmed localities - like Massachsuetts municipalities, Lawrence, Chelsea, Somerville - are forced  to fend for themselves to accomodate them and fight the crime some of them bring.  All because the Federal Government is derelict in its duty to secure its borders.

Neither Dem nor GOP Republican DC establishments will act to change the border situation.  It's up to mayors and Governors to solve the issue for their communities, and let other communities to feel their pain to force the Federal Government to act.

TheFederal Government isn't derelict.  They are active participants facilitating a foreign invasion.  They are in open rebellion against Article IV of the Constitution of the United States of America.

535 members of Congress sit idly by and have sat idly by for decades and do nothing to remedy the situation.

We have a problem and most of these 535 members of Congress should have been voted out and maybe we wouldn't have the same problems election cycle after election cycle.
