A document describing a foreign government’s military defenses, including its nuclear capabilities, was found by FBI agents who searched former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and private club last month, according to people familiar with the matter, underscoring concerns among U.S. intelligence officials about classified material stashed in the Florida property.

WaPo/NYT/CNN/MSNBC and their lackeys at DOJ have pulled their little Lucy and football stunt about 10 times too many now.

Don't be sorry.  I would be pissed if you gave as much as a dime to the WaPo.

btw, I saw the reporter trying to explain this.  She was rambling about how there was a special designation on the document cover indicating something like 'Classified - nuclear secrets of other countries besides the US' as if the Defense department had a separate 'classified' stamp just for that. What an idiot.

But it's nice to know that the Justice Department investigators running this operation have the extra time to call Washington Post reporters into their headquarters to show them some of the material they seized.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Gee. I have a book from the cold war era delineating arsenal strengths, weapon types, missile ranges, aircraft delivery systems, etc, for all the nuclear powers (although ours may not have been entirely accurate--or any of them, for that matter).

Is that the sort of document they'd be having a leak over?

You'd best better believe that every nation out there is trying to get some idea of what everyone else has, and the leakers didn't even say whether the country involved was an ally or potential foe.

So, yeah, YAWN...

Document on foreign nation’s nuclear capabilities found by FBI at Mar-a-Lago: report
by Chloe Folmar - 09/06/22 10:13 PM ET

FBI agents who searched former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home found a document detailing a foreign government’s nuclear capabilities and other military defenses, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday.

The document containing the nuclear information was found during the Aug. 8 search that was authorized by an FBI affidavit that has now been released with redactions. The sources did not disclose to the Post the identity of the foreign government.

The Post had reported in August that the FBI was searching in part for documents containing nuclear information, something Trump later dismissed as a “hoax.”

The search took place more than a year and a half after Trump’s departure from office and uncovered 100 classified documents.

Some of the documents seized by the FBI in its raid of Mar-a-Lago were reportedly cleared on a need-to-know basis rather than being open to specific members of the government with high-level security clearances, according to sources who spoke to the Post.

Documents at the same level of security as the ones flagged by the Post’s sources are normally locked in a secure facility where their location is able to be tracked.

The 100 found during the Mar-a-Lago search were added to a total of 300 classified documents that have been retrieved since Trump left office in 2020.

The others were found when boxes of records were sent to the National Archives and Records Administration and later in response to a further probe by investigators. A judge on Monday verified Trump’s request to appoint a special master to review the documents found in the Mar-a-Lago search, meaning that an independent person will look into the information being assessed by the courts.

The Hill has reached out to Trump, the FBI and the Justice Department for comment.

Documents detailing foreign country's nuclear capabilities found at Mar-a-Lago: Report
by Jack Birle, Breaking News Reporter
September 06, 2022 09:20 PM

Documents related to the nuclear and military capabilities of an unnamed nation were among the papers found at Mar-a-Lago by FBI agents, per a report.

The sensitive documents, which would require special clearance for access on a need-to-know basis, were recovered during a raid by the FBI last month on former President Donald Trump's Florida residence, people familiar with the situation told the Washington Post.

The documents are so secretive that most senior national security officials are unaware of their contents, and only the president and very few officials are aware of the documents, according to the report.

Earlier Tuesday, Trump decried the Mar-a-Lago raid and fallout over classified documents as a "witch hunt."

"All American Patriots know that I always do everything 'by the book' and that this Hoax will fail miserably," he said in a statement.

The Trump team was handed a victory in the legal battle with the Justice Department on Monday when a judge granted a motion for a special master to look through documents seized by the FBI during the August raid.

If these documents are "so secretive that most senior national security officials are unaware of their contents", why are "people familiar with the situation" blabbing about it to the Washington Post?

WaPo Drops Latest 'We Got Him Now' Story About Nuke Doc Seized in Trump Raid
By Nick Arama | Sep 06, 2022 10:00 PM ET

The DOJ/FBI appears to be at it with the questionable leaks again.

The left is flipping out for what seems like the millionth time at the latest “the walls are closing in on Trump” story.

Now, The Washington Post claims that the FBI seized documents during the raid on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

Quote
A document describing a foreign government’s military defenses, including its nuclear capabilities, was found by FBI agents who searched former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and private club last month, according to people familiar with the matter, underscoring concerns among U.S. intelligence officials about classified material stashed in the Florida property.

Sorry, we’ve all been around the block on these stories, over these many years, and I no longer believe them.

How many times have we heard this now, and all of these stories turn out to be nonsense because it isn’t a crime to lie to the media? It’s also not a crime for the media to lie to us. Indeed, I think we should always apply the “48-hour rule” to any of these stories–from Russian bounties to claims that President Donald Trump called military “suckers and losers.” All these stories were false. Yet the left jumped on all of them and spread them without question. Indeed, they still believe most of these stories; truth and debunking don’t matter to them. Because the most important thing is pushing the narrative against Trump.

Not to mention, notice they don’t even say that the alleged document is classified or secret. For all we know, even if it were real, it could be a magazine article on Iran’s capabilities.

But more importantly, what we see here, once again, is an alleged leak from the DOJ/FBI — “people familiar with the matter” (aka “sources”). So, the very people who tried to block unsealing the affidavit because it might jeopardize the case — claiming that this was some kind of national security issue — are leaking like sieves to the WaPo? If this were national security material, they would be very wrong for leaking about it. Can we say how much they have jeopardized any credibility they may have had at this point with this kind of behavior? If this were sensitive material, looks like the material was far safer at Mar-a-Lago than in the hands of the FBI, if this is the kind of leaking they do.

Bottom line: the DOJ/FBI knows this isn’t going well for them and someone there is trying to jack up the anger against Trump.

We’ve had all kinds of whistleblowers screaming to Congress about how afflicted with bias the FBI has been — including regarding investigating Trump. This pretty much seals it when they do things like this, violating all kinds of rules and norms of the FBI.
