WSJ Poll: Joe Biden Leads Donald Trump by 6 Points in Hypothetical Matchup

President Joe Biden leads former President Donald Trump by 6 points in a 2024 hypothetical matchup, a Wall Street Journal poll found Friday.

The poll asked respondents, “Hypothetically, if the 2024 election for President were held today and the candidates were Joe Biden, the Democrat, and Donald Trump, the Republican, for whom would you vote?”

Fifty percent chose Biden, while only 44 percent selected Trump. Six percent were undecided. In March, the poll had both Biden and Trump tied at 45 percent with nine percent undecided. In November, the poll had Biden leading by one point (46-45 percent) with 10 percent undecided.

The poll sampled 1,313 registered voters nationwide from August 17-25. The poll did not give a margin of error but said “due to rounding, ‘total’ of the individual components may differ by +/-1.”

The poll was criticized on Twitter for being a “push poll,” which means the poll was conducted with a predetermined outcome to impact how Americans feel about the hypothetical matchup between Trump and Biden.

The WSJ poll comes as nine other polls have shown Trump leading Biden by one to seven points. In a poll last weekend by McLaughlin and Associates, Trump led Biden by 4 points in a potential 2024 presidential matchup.

First, "POTUS" Biden --- in a prime time speech to the nation --- publicly proclaims Donald Trump AND his supporters enemies of the state.  Next, the legacy media starts calling for names and "accountabiity".  On the third day, Biden, with an approval rating in the 30's, is beating Donald Trump by six points in an eyeball-to-eyeball political contest.

Could this be a plan of some sort?

Single polls? No. But if there is a series of polls consistently showing numbers in the same ballpark, I take them more seriously, especially the closer to the election you get.

That last week though, Trump kept gaining and gaining, by Sun or Mon before election he was tied to ahead in most polls. It was obvious he had the mojo.

You have to look for the contradictions, momentum, and things that run against the usual trend. For example right now, they are posting the result for polls taken last week of August. Dems at this point are usually leading by double digits, yet I've seen some blue state polls where the within standard of error, or single digits.

Those are all within the last 8 days.  Even left wing Pretty Pathetic Polling can only give a blue state Colorado Senate candidate a barely double digit lead. This is a huge deviation from what I seen the last several elections.

Typically, I have considered the WSJ as the last decently unbiased print media left on earth.

Wonder and hope their editorial board addresses the charges of operating "push polls"
